Two quick questions..

Oahun Wrote:One LAST question for this thread. Promise. Big Grin

While RP'ing a personal story, is it alright to pre-define a location for a singular Dragonball if you have no intention of acquiring that dragonball in the current arc that you're writing.

I say this because I would like to include its presence as a story element. (I.E someone who wants to trust Oahun in protecting it.)

IF I were to search for the same Dragonball at a future time, I would use the location as a starting position for finding it (or perhaps stumble upon it due to tragic circumstances), but I would write it out the normal way through an actual quest to truly acquire it within the RPG. I would probably develop that storyline as my constant struggle to keep it from the hands of those who wish to acquire it (NPCs)

Is this sort of approach acceptable?

Thanks again.

From a personal level, I think the idea is fine. From a gameplay perspective, I see possible complications. To go on a hypothetical here, there's always the chance that you "establish" that "John Locke" has dragonball number six sitting inside of his toilet. Then you go inactive, die, get around to getting the ball slower than someone else, or even just change your entire plan to not bother with it, among other things. Then someone else hunts them all and number six is the final ball he needs. Rather than be able to use his creativity and ideas to create an interesting piece of work for us to read that might fight a storyline he was already working on, he instead has to do one of three things - ignore that ball six is in a toilet and instead claim it has been in a bird's next since activation, accept that ball six is in a toilet but figure out some way to change his story to explain why he or his team go to a random village and start a plumbing business (scrapping his original plan), or change his story to explain that this ball sitting in this birds next smells like doo doo water from a toilet.

There's no hard fast rule here and people "can" just ignore that when finding it, but some people might find the inconsistency to be a real frustration to essentially have another member decide an aspect of where their own storyline should take them.

That said, I don't think there is any actual ruling preventing it - however, another staff can feel free to inform me if I'm simply overlooking something.
