If that stops you from getting Mimic, don't bother getting it.

Mimic is more capable then you are assuming, at the worst it's the same as any ability because you can simply choose to stick with one ability and completely flesh it out like any regular member of the rpg.

However, there comes a point where making techniques for a certain ability becomes redundant and pointless. People without Mimic need to go find a Dragonball, people with it can switch out to a new ability and build their skill set all over again.

Mimic completely bypass the need for Dragonballs and the RoSaT.

If you're really smart, you'd always keep a surplus of XP on you so you could quickly acquire techniques in the middle of a fight and you'd create generic techniques that could be enhanced through the use of various elemental ki's.
