Eh, you'd know if you were going into anaphylaxis. I mean, yeah you're running so you're having a hard time breathing, but the real danger is that your windpipe with actually start to swell shut. The signs and symptoms of going into a true anaphylactic shock are very very severe, and you'd be having more than some itching and hives.
A lot of times these kinds of allergies can be "worked through" over long periods of time using low level exposures and etc. I used to literally be allergic to the sun, but no longer. I got over it by being exposed to the sun a lot.
