Of course the technology is an improvement. It's being released four years later.
Snark aside, the launch titles for the Kinect seem to all be XBoxified Wii games: 4 sports games, 2 dance games, 3 fitness games, and 2 loosely-related-minigames games. There are 3 racing games, which bears mentioning because I don't recall many Wii racers besides Mario Kart. The only really "unique" launch game that I saw is Kinectimals (Think Nintendogs in a zoo).
Aside from the slight increase in accuracy/cpu power and the lack of connecting cords between the controllers, the PS3 Move is a shameless ripoff of the Wii schematics. But, it does seem to have more interesting launch titles (Little Big Planet 2! Heavy Rain!(?)) in addition to the obligatory Wii games.
I think the Move will be successful enough due to the ease studios will have in releasing games for it and the Wii, which also means an increase in quality for Wii games. Kinect may have more issues in this area just because of the total lack of a controller. The cost is also an issue: an entire new Wii costs about $130 - 200. Just the starting peripherals for Move tag in at $130, and Kinect is $150.
In short, both seem like a waste of money right now with the Wii already on the market. Wait 6 months to a year for game developers to test the waters a bit more. I'd personally go for the Move if you're just itching to spend some money.
