Everyone should start at max level because apparently none of the rest of the game matters.

Its not that. Its that the argument is that by max level classes change so much and have lots of new abilities and this changes how effective they are in situations. Just like LoL where some guys steamroll people before getting geared and some guys suck until geared when they become forces of nature (Corki).
