I'm going to address both separately. ;D

Your logic is correct about Ki Control. You can shoot beams, energy blasts, deflect them. Everything basic is at your disposal. (I like to include power up and suppression for flavor with Vad as well as aura control.)

If I wanted to make my Ki stick to something, that would be a custom tech because you're augmenting your Ki do something different than just have a blunt force/explosive impact.

Now. On that note. Someone with Ki Control and Ki Spec is going to be more potent than someone with only Ki Control. Logically someone, like Ki Spec described, who can manipulate Ki as easily as breathing would have an advantage. Kaden usually describes it as a massive pool of energy. I'm going to do a similar thing with Simone.

Alright. Onto telekinesis. I've never really had to think about it's basic usage, but I'm going to follow my logic, so bare with me. Basic telekinesis might involve lifting chairs, floating objects, and yes in this case I don't think a simple burst of dirt would fall under the category of Custom Tech. Now if you want that dirt to say, assault the target or rapidly spin around them trying to constantly confuse and disorient them. Then yes, that would require a custom, because again you are augmenting Telekinesis with more strength.
