Metal Teemer Wrote:Well, since I have been playing Pokémon since it's original Red and Blue phase, the standard procedure of "find the best and win the day" has gotten a bit monotonous. So I decided to play through some of the older games with a bit more of a challenge.Hey Steemer, you ever try the Nuzlock Challenge?
My first challenge was to take on FireRed, playing the entire game with the first 6 different Pokémon species that I encountered. Mission accomplished.
I am currently working on a restart of my Pearl version with the limitations of an all Steel-Type team, as well as my SoulSilver with an all Flying-Type team. I'll keep you posted on how the games are going. I will say that for my Pearl and SoulSilver, I used an action replay ONLY to obtain my specific 6 Pokémon in their lowest evolved state (except Scizor, because trade evolutions are dumb). I caught them all under level 5, and will be proceeding through the entire game with them.
Essentially, it goes like this:
Quote:1. Whenever a Pokemon is knocked out it is considered dead and must be released.*/**
2. You may ONLY catch the first Pokemon in each new route.
3. No healing items outside of battle***
4. SET battle style****
*If all of your pokemon die, it's game over
**You may choose to count poison reducing them to 1 as death
***Pokemon centers are the only healing allowed, aside from any forced healings by trainers.
****Doesn't let you switch pokemon when the opponent is switching
You can also choose to never use your box to store additional pokemon, if you want
You can choose to also let your pokemon go or store them in your box when you reach Kanto and start over.
