What? I was simply underlining the fact that "controlling the map" was not necessarily solely the responsibility of a jungler, but is up to anyone on the team. You should never be afraid to drop a gank when you're gone from your lane anyway. It's rare people bother going all the way back to their tower with essentially two missing.
Also he didn't duo-queue. It cuts away the chance of one player being bad, but the general feel of "WE DID EVERYTHING WE COULD WE EVEN DUO QUO'ED" usually means they didn't help their teammates enough.
As an addendum, in LoL, you need to know when you're going to carry. There are really some games where you'll have a great score but it'll still be a uphill battle because you didn't expect to be this good. I'm guessing it'll come with time or confidence, but there's games where you needed that Mejai's/SotO just a little bit earlier.
