I know it seems like I'm being unnecessarily anal about keeping things on topic, but the Kame House is not the Aslyum. I'm trying to help promote focused, clear discussion on specific topics. I understand that a lot of topics tend to easily segue into other similar topics that are next to it in logical progression, but I have to make sure that it stays simply a step beside it rather than suddenly going to a 10-15 post deviation from the topic.

Some of our members are reading the Kame House with full intentions of not participating in certain types of discussion, most notably any discussion that may discuss questioning faith or arguments of political nature. While I have a personal belief that we should all openly enter such discussions for educational reasons, or that we should all readily defend our stances on a subject, that doesn't mean I should allow myself or others to trample on the hopes of others.

This forum is of a touchy nature in itself and as such, we need to do our best to keep things from spilling over between threads and diluting the discussion by turning some of them into a multi-thread battleground. I really want to keep discussion flowing as much as possible, but please acknowledge and respect the concerns of other members in what they do and do not wish to talk about. They want to enter the threads that interest them, and avoid the threads that don't - or even wish to rightfully avoid threads that might provoke them to lose their cool and break the forum rules. Having a thread with one intention suddenly flip into yet another "Super Generic Religion vs Science on the Grandest Level" discussion blindsides them and leaves them not participating in this forum at all.

That said, feel free to reignite discussions in a thread that has been left alone if there is further interest in it. This is not to dampen your curiosity at all but to simply funnel it into the correct locations. Reply to an old thread, even open a new thread if you wish, just don't leave some members into feeling baited.

We're of all types here, gotta respect that.

We can no longer allow any pornographic images (or links to them) to be posted on the site. This forum will become more for the discussion of serious topics.

I am not going to set out 1,000 rules for how you should behave yourselves, and you will not have to earn your access here... however, if you decide you want to make personal attacks against someone here you can expect your access to be removed.
