Link's Awakening was my first Zelda game, I was like 10 when I played it. I remember being sad as hell at the ending and actually calling the Nintendo hotline to ask what the fuck had happened to Marin and all the people. True story. The guy on the end of the line was like "uh ... they were like ... a dream, and Link ended the dream." And I was like "But ... why? What?"
