I want to make a clarification. Pug does not carry the definition of "bad player, idiot, scrub", etc. Those words cover those meanings pretty well on their own. A pug, derived from PUG (Pick-up-group member, meaning anyone who is not part of your known play group, usually randomly added by matchmaking in a game) can be any of those things, but can also be a very good, intelligent, and damn good player. A pug can come into your group, be a complete dick or a total nice guy, while still performing their role however well or bad, and still be a pug none the less.
If matchmaking set me up randomly with HotshotGG, GuardsmanBob, Reginald, or a guy named N1GG3RSL0L (made up name but I've seen similar), they are all pugged members, regardless of the massive skill/attitude differences between these people.
So just wanted to reiterate that someone being called a pug only means "that random added guy that we don't know and will likely never play with again" and in no way speaks of their play skill or attitude. It just doesn't help that your average player, whether pugged or not, is a complete moron AND complete asshole. We just tend to overlook or forgive these things when we know the player, and rage about "stupid fucking pugs" when we don't.
