To add to what Anzekay said, I actually go back on Cass or Brand quite often and grab a second Doran's Ring. I like the total package of stats they provide for the cost and use them to help gain advantage in my lane. Ideally, I won't need to do so, since I'd simply be last hitting and not farming with my abilities, but quite often you'll find yourself in a situation where you are being pressured for mana (despite runes and character mechanics) and needing to spam to hold your lane well (dealing with a frequently diving Vlad, for example) and unable to take blue. The times when I feel pressured or want to assert my dominance of lane, I'll grab another Doran's (though, again, that's fairly often on Cass or Brand due to their playstyle). If you find your lane to be mind numbingly passive though, which isn't often the case, then shit, work towards a Catalyst item or get that Deathcap or something.
