you know, ray kurzweil, the guy i linked to has spoken about the democratizing effect of communication technology which is the overarcing point there. he predicted the fall of ussr based on his tech foresight, accurately predicted when the internet would go mainstream, speaks often about how vidyagamesare a powerful medium for virtual world development, and other things. unfortunately, he's a huge nerd and he's not very photogenic.

point being that i'm a recent convert of ray's and everybody else should be too.
