Even if I knew for sure, I wouldn't call her an asshole, but I like pointing these things out.
Eh, that's working on the assumption that she's paying ANY attention whatsoever to what's ahead of her (or that there isn't a corner, shop exit, whatever just past the camera). I tend to walk a lot either staring at my cell phone reading something, looking around at random shit, or even just staring blankly ahead on autopilot. If you were to ask me something as easy as "what color jacket did that person twenty feet ahead of you have on?" (guessing she was around that distance behind) or "did they randomly stop and throw a football across the road", I would probably have no idea. If someone were to just fucking drop through the ground out of nowhere, without warning, and I were in an every day location and not fucking Iraq or something where I might expect something crazy (and thus be paying attention), then I suspect that I would be processing the information still. It'd probably take me about five seconds to go "wait, I could have sworn someone was in front of me... What's that taxi driver stopping for? Oh no fucking way!" Shit, that's working under the assumption that she wasn't standing around trying to catch the taxi driver's attention for a ride, causing him to slow down and see the girl drop in the first place.
I don't know, man, I guess we just see two different perspectives here. I didn't get the impression that the lady was going "Whoa, bitch fell through a hole. Meh, cunt. /shit-in-hole-for-comedic-exaggeration" (aka - expecting someone else to deal with it because she is in a hurry or something).
The really every day evil is that there will be no information on this actually in China. All attempts to see this video or news articles will probably pull up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLKiknDbFjA instead, or something about how wonderful the country is.
