They didn't listen to him. They never did. And now his chances of evolving had dwindled to nearly nothing. There was still a chance though, there was always a chance. He just needed them to listen. He had to convince them or trick them, one of the two.

If they would deny him his Wartortle dreams, then he'd find a way to evolve his own damned self!

As day break came, those remaining gathered 'round the scene. Squrtle's shell had been split open with no trace of him in sight His shades lay nearby but those as well had been cracked.
