Yeah, it's not too intense. One of my friends from a previous job is a huge MTG nerd and offered to help me build a cheap deck, but with hundreds of cards made in the last few years I didn't want to bother.
At first I was upset at DotP tight card restrictions. It would be better to just put a limited variety of cards into the game and let players build a deck. But it always comes down to a theme anyway, dictated by the card limitations, and the decks are fun if less than optimal.
