The Like/Hate Thread

Storytime: So for people who don't know, I'm about 6'3" (ish) and so I'm usually considered tall when entering the standard household. I arrive over here and, never having seen any of the people over here before, need to get introduced to everyone. So my uncle's family arranges a family meeting day, where I'm to meet the (non-blood related, but technically related) family of my uncle's wife's sisters. First I meet the youngest sister who just go her first child, cute as a button quiet 4 year old girl. Quiet kids = instant points.

Then comes the eldest sister who has three kids. In comes one on the age of my uncle's son, my cousin, a girl on 7 and then in comes her big brother and big sister. Noisy and rowdy tomboyish little girl and I would estimate the big brother to be around 5'2". I get introduced to them all and then I get told he's 15 before the conversation is cut off and we move before I get to her sister, who's either my height or just slightly taller. I'm immediately intrigued and my brain sure as hell suddenly remembers we're not related by blood.

Time passes, when I later hear more about her daily life and start to think I seriously fucked up my American essays on American school and education. She says she's still in high school and moving up a grade in it, instead of going out of it. My face is just a puzzled look at this point. Then her mom talks about telling her about me and she apparently "immediately got that 'oooh is he hot' look on her face" and started to beautify herself in record time, so I'm shooting jokes like 'sorry to disappoint you', everybody's laughing and I'm just forgetting about it.

Then after dinner, we sit down again and keep talking and my cousin (uncle's son, whatever) start playing with their youngest sister, when the oldest girl turns to their brother and goes 'they're just like us, one year apart and playing together'. My brain instantly flashes an image of pedobear as I casually turn around to my uncle 'Uhm... How old is she again?'

Wait...So not only was she a bit young, but she was also kind of almost sort of not really your cousin?
