Yeah not so sure I'll bother with anything besides the Wii U next generation either. I want to get a PS3 now because there's so many exclusives that came out for it in its life cycle, but almost everything I was playing on my 360 before I now play on my PC. Shit, I even got some of the same games because they were so dirt cheap to get on the PC, and I don't have to worry about space in my house for disks (if you have a serious gaming habit and don't own a house, it can be a problem). Honestly the main drawback before was not having money for a quality gaming PC. Money is one of the nice things about being grown up.
Glad that I waited to get a Wii U though. I really wanted it but figured getting to play it for a few weeks before I went to Japan would be a waste of travel money. And the price is gonna mad drop. Just ain't enough games for it right now. Until some good first-party stuff is ready to ship, I'll wait.
Relatedly though, I've been wondering about whether this is Nintendo's last console generation. The thought killed me before, but now I've thought about it I honestly would like being able to play Zelda on Steam. I think really we've taken the console generation model as far as it can go. Time for PCs and peripherals.
