If it's the dev's platform of choice, then I expect the Xbox will crash and burn. They absolutely have to pull some serious exclusives, or they're just sunk. It's STILL an inferior product (5GB available RAM vs 7GB available RAM is relevant, and Sony's GPU is slightly better. All those big chunky Ubisoft games everyone loves? They're going to look better on the cheaper console.

I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft gets outsold 5 to 1.

I think a little bias is showing there. Microsoft will sell better now that the online requirements/used game fees are gone. They still have exclusives that will immediately make current Xbox users jump to the One (Halo, Killer Instinct, etc). The price difference isn't a giant chasm like it was with 360/PS3, $100 will count but it won't count like it did last gen.

Ultimately those who'd like to stay with MS now have a much more viable option (though still not perfect), and I would be surprised if there was any large margin between the consoles.

EDIT: I say this as a person who's not planning on buying either MS or Sony this gen.
