[Android-18]

The day was slowly dipping away as the sun set beautifully across the horizon, the sky darkened to a dark purple as clouds drifted lazily by in pinks and oranges. Android 18 stood by a bare little tree and yawned softly, she squinted her eyes lightly as she glanced over the desolate land. The wind blew around her softly causing her blue denim jacket to flap slightly along. She raised one of her soft pale hands to her beautiful but stern face, brushing a few strands of yellow soft hair away from it.

She continued to look over the land as a sudden blast erupted in the distance, ?What in the??? 18 questioned as a she felt an immense ki level arise from the risen dust in the distance.

?Whoa!? she said again as she felt the ki power building more and more in the distance, ?How can someone be that powerful?!? her stern face now in slight surprise as her mouth was slightly ajar and her once calm, watchful eyes, now widened with fear but also with curiosity.

?Why would someone with that much power be out here??? she questioned herself once more, then a sudden blast emerged again in the distance, 18 jumped back slightly into the tree. Then she heard it, a cry for help, it was cut off suddenly as everything fell into silence, ?That?s it, I can?t take this anymore?? 18 mumbled under her breathe and stood upright, ?Someone cried for help?I?m sure of it?? she clutched her fists tightly at her sides as a light yellow aura blew around her, ?I?m just going to have to find out?? she jumped into the air slightly and began flying swiftly toward the still falling dust leaving a light ki trail behind her.

As she neared the spot where the blast had occurred, the ki she had sensed earlier was now gone. 18 landed lightly on the ground by a small crater made in the ground, ?Who could have done this?? again she asked herself, her gaze then shot to something moving in a pile of ruble.

18 walked cautiously toward the movement, not making a sound. A man struggled weakly half way out of the wreck, ?Ugh!? he groaned and cried, half his face was covered in blood and one of his arms seemed to be broken as he clutched it painfully to his chest. 18 dashed toward the man, and managed to pull him out of the mess, ?What happened here?? she asked the man, he let out a rasping cough and wheezed slightly, his rib cage must be crushed? she thought to herself.

The man sobbed lightly, ?They?They destroyed my house?? a tear trailed down one of his dirty bloodied cheeks, ?T-they were so powerful?? he coughed again and shut his eyes.

?Who? Who was so powerful?!? she asked again, hoping to get the answer from this poor man who was obviously going to meet his end.

?I-I don?t know?? he replied sadly, ?They came?two of them?? pain seemed to cross his face, ?They killed her?? another tear trailed down his cheek, ?An-and, they took the dragon ball!!? he suddenly had fear in his eyes.

?Killed who? What dragon ball?!? 18 asked again, as she wondered how this man got a dragon ball.

?They killed my wife?? he shut his eyes again as he breathing grew fainter, ?T-the dragon ball?I-I found it?? he coughed more as blood slid down his jaw from the corner of his mouth.

?Did you see where they went?? 18 asked, anger seemed to be rising inside of her, Who would kill an innocent life?two innocent lives?? And who would kill for that dragon ball?? She thought to herself and looked down into the mans dirty painful looking face.

?N-north east?G-get get, dragon ball?? He coughed again as more blood slid out of his mouth, and then he lay still on the ground. Everything was quite again; the moon was well into the sky and full, a slight tinge of red around it.

18 stood up and shook her head, ?Whoever did this is sick?? she said softly to herself, ?And I won?t stand for it?? She looked toward north east where the man had said they had gone, ?I don?t know who?Or what for that matter, I?m up against?? she brushed a few stray hairs from her eyes and tucked them lightly behind one ear, ?But I guess I?ll just have to find out??

18 powered up slightly as a white aura cascaded around her body, she jumped into the air and shot across the sky, ?North east?? she said to herself, then it hit her, ?There?s a town north east!? she narrowed her eyes slightly as the aura around her surged more and she sped swiftly along the dark night sky.

She looked on into the darkness, then she saw it, a small quiet town off in the distance, ?Quex Town?? she slowed down and lowered softly to the ground, she touch down lightly and quietly near a big boulder, ?Nothing seems to be wrong?? she said softly and rubbed her chin lightly with a hand, ?I wonder where they went.? She jumped up swiftly and landed silently on the top of the boulder, ?Maybe they?re waiting till morning??

18 yawned and took off her jacket, ?I?ll just wait till morning then?? she sat down on the top of the boulder, she brought her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them then lightly set her chin on her knees, she watched the town carefully,*Who could it have been?I never felt a power level like that before?* She thought to herself as she listened to some crickets in the distance, *I don?t know what I?m getting myself into?Maybe I should stop now?* she thought again, but then remembered the poor mans face after she pulled him from the rubble, *I should avenge him?He died for no reason?Just because he had a dragon ball?* she felt the anger rise inside herself again, ?I?ll find out who did it?I?ll make them pay?I can?t back out now?? she said to the darkness and to herself.

?But?? she felt her confidence shrink, ?With that kind of power?They could easily kill me?? she muttered on, ?But then again?I really don?t even know my own power, it?s been such a long time since I?ve fought anyone?Or trained.?

She gazed at the town, it was dark and quiet, save for the crickets and the meow of a cat without a home, ?I?ll have to do it, I will do it?? She nodded to herself as she felt her confidence come back, ?If I don?t then who will?? she forced a smile and yawned again.

?I just hope luck is on my side?? she glided a hand through her soft hair and sighed lightly, ?I?m going to need it?? she felt herself growing tired as she stared on into the town, nothing had happened yet, ?I wonder where they went?? she tried to find something, a power level, a sound, anything, ?Maybe?There?s more than just the two of them?? she worried as the thought struck her, ?No, I have to stop thinking like that?? she rubbed her forehead then her eyes.

?I need sleep?But I have to watch the town?? she said tiredly to herself and curled up on the boulder, she took her jacket and bunched it up under her head and used it as a pillow, ?I?ll just?rest my eyes?? she yawned again and shut her eyes.

Everything became deathly quiet and Android 18 tried to stay awake but she was too tired, different things passed through her mind, the man, the explosions, who she was up against, and what she was going to do, it all seemed pointless, but she had to do it. She fell asleep as the night passed on and the moon passed by in the sky as the red tinge in it seemed to darken.

Android 18 awoke to the sounds of explosions and screaming, she sat up quickly and rubbed her eyes, the sun still coming up over the horizon. She rubbed her eyes and looked toward the town, there was a lot of smoke arising from all over and people were running out of the town, ?What happened!?? she growled to herself.

She grabbed her jacket and quickly pulled it on then jumped down to the ground landing softly on one knee. She rose up and stood still looked toward the town again, there were no more explosions, but she could feel a powerful ki level inside the city.

She quickly ran toward the town as fast as she could, when she reached the road into it she began walking cautiously, ?I must have been right, they were waiting till morning?? she murmured softly. She walked further into the town, most of the buildings and houses were partially destroyed.

She continued on and stopped as she noticed a near by injured man laying on his side by a burning building, she ran up to him and pulled him away from the smoldering structure. She moved him to a building that looked to be ok and sat him against the wall, the man coughed; ?Thanks?? he managed to say.

?Don?t mention it.? 18 replied, ?What happened?? she probably knew the answer to this question but she thought she would ask.

?Two men, came and did this?? he sputtered, ?They took my fathers dragon ball?And killed him.? he coughed again, 18 checked to see if he had any broken bones, there didn?t seem to be any but he had inhaled a lot of smoke.

?Another one?? 18 sighed, *I can?t let them kill all these people like this, its sick?*

?You have to stop them!!? he said raising his voice and gripping 18 by the shoulders.

?I?m going to try?? she looked to where the source of the high power level was coming from, ?I?m going to try?? she muttered again, ?Look, just get out of town, get as far away from this place as you can.?

?But my home!!? the man blurted sounding a little mad.

?Look at your home?? she motioned to the burning building then to the rest of the town, ?Pretty soon?there wont be a home here for you or anyone.? She looked sternly into the mans face, his eyes began to fill with tears, ?Just go, there should be a town near by somewhere?Go there.? she felt sorry for this person, for all these people, ?I?ll get your fathers dragon ball back for you, just go now!? she added. The man staggered up and managed to jog his way out of the town.

She stood up and started to walk toward the center of town, she walked into a clearing where two men were standing and laughing, one of them were holding a helpless girl by the neck, ?Watch this?? the man holding the girl sneered, he clutched one hand tightly and charged a ball of ki in it, his power level rising as light from the ki surrounded his hand, the girl kicked and screamed trying to free herself.

18 froze, fear obviously won this battle, she couldn?t even move her legs. The man forced his hand with the ki in it hard into the girls chest, she screamed and cried, the ki blew right through her chest leaving a hole through the girl, both of the men laughed manically as the girl stopped moving and twitched slightly, blood dripped and spilled down to the ground, he dropped the girl to the ground and turned to face Android 18, ?Well look at what we got here?? he said in a soft dark like voice and smirked.

The man that spoke stood at least 6 feet tall and had dark blue eyes with red cat like slits down the middle, he wore a black karate suit, the sleeves to it were cut off at the shoulders, and he also had a blue sash around his waist. His hair was green and ran down to the middle of his back where it flowed softly in the breeze, and oddly his skin had a light blue tinge to it.

The other man continued snickering behind him, ?Can I take care of this one brother??? he sneered in a scratchy kind of voice and moved more into view.

He had the same karate suit as the other man but his sash was yellow, his eyes a dark green with the same red cat like slits down the middle of them, he was slightly shorter by a few inches then the other man, his hair, a deep red, was short and spiky. His skin too had a blue tinge to it but it was lighter then the other mans.

*They?re brothers??* 18 questioned inside her mind, ?Who are you?? she managed to say, trying to bring her courage back.

?Heh?? The bigger man of the two chuckled slightly, ?I am Adrian and this here is my brother Kento?? he continued on as he stared at 18 with his evil eyes.

?You can?t just kill innocent people like that?? 18 said gritting her teeth and clutching her fists tightly at her sides.

?Oh really? And um?Who?s going to stop us??? Adrian said as Kento started snickering again, ?All I see is a weak human?? he chuckled lightly again.

?Human?? 18 smirked *They think I?m human??* she thought to herself, *I?m only partially human?* she looked at Kento, he was obviously growing impatient.

?Yes, human?That?s what I said.? Adrian replied and crossed his arms across his chest lightly, ?Ok Kento, you can take care of this one?? he smirked and turned his back to 18, ?Don?t lose that dragon ball?? he said as a light green aura shot around his body and he took off into the sky, disappearing from view.

18 looked at Kento, he was grinning evilly at her, ?I?m going to enjoy killing you?? he said in his scratchy like voice to her.

?It won?t be easy?? 18 spat angrily back, at him and narrowed her eyes.

She moved one foot back slightly and got into a stance; she brought her clutched fists in front of her and glared at him.

?You going to try and fight me little girl?? Kento said in a taunting like manner, ?Wouldn?t want to break a nail.? He started laughing.

18 felt the anger burning inside of her, she clutched her fists tighter in front of her and let out a short yell as her power level rose, a yellow aura burned around her as she breathed heavily and smirked at the look on Kento?s face.

?H-how can you?? he stuttered, ?You?re just a human!? he clutched his fists in front of himself as well and get in a stance.

?Looks can be deceiving?? 18 smirked, ?I?m only part human?I am an android?? her confidence was growing stronger; she just might be able to beat him.

?No matter?? Kento said, and forced an evil like smile, ?I?ll still be able to destroy you!? at that he dashed toward her catching 18 by surprise, he nailed her hard in the gut with his knee.

18 gasped and backed away from him, she shook her head and then ran swiftly toward him, she threw a punch at his face but he was fast and leaned left, away from her fist as she lunged forward having missed, he hammered hard down, hitting the back of her neck sending her to the ground.

?Not so strong now, are you little girl?? he smirked and kicked at her side, but 18 was fast and grabbed his ankle before he hit her. She pulled it hard and knocked him down to the ground then she quickly got to her feet.

?The thing is?? she smirked as he cursed and got to his feet, ?This is only half of my power?? she narrowed her eyes and let out a loud yell as her aura brightened and her ki level was well over 200,000.

18 could see the fear in Kento?s face, but he tried to hide it.

He dashed at her again, but this time 18 stepped out of the way and quickly kneed him hard in the gut causing him to cough up blood. Kento gagged and backed away, he started to get angry. He ran at her again and managed to punch her hard in the face; she swore and punched him back, hard in the jaw, not breaking it, but close to it.

Kento yelped and yelled in pain, he had underestimated 18?s power.

She ran in at him and tripped him over, she placed one foot onto his neck and pointed a finger at him, ?What?re you going to do, finger me to death?? he crackled in an evil like laugh, she moved her foot from his neck and stomped hard into his gut, he coughed up more blood and cursed again, she pushed her foot against his neck again.

18 looked down at Kento, *I better get some questions out of him?* she thought to herself.

?I?m going to ask you some questions?? she said and stared hard into Kento?s demon like eyes, ?You can answer them for me, or I can force them from you?You understand??

?I?m not going to answer your stupid questions!? he growled, 18 pushed harder against his neck cutting off his air.

?Like I said, I can force them from you?? she said as he grabbed at her leg trying to get her off and struggled to breathe, he stopped pushing hard against his neck so he could breathe again.

?Fine?? he grumbled angrily and glared coldly up at her.

?Why are you looking for the dragon balls?? she asked him still pointing her finger at his head, *I don?t want to kill him?But just in case?* she thought.

?You?re really stupid aren?t you?? he chuckled, 18 pressed lightly into his neck as a warning, ?Ok, Ok!? he stopped chucking, ?My brother wants to make a wish, he wants to take over the world! The universe!? a twisted evil smile curled onto his lips.

?Your brother as in, Adrian?? 18 asked.

?Heh, no, not him?? Kento smirked, ?My other brother??

?So there are really three of you?? she asked, looking down at him.

?Yeah?We?re brothers, I?m the youngest?? He smirked again, ?Adrian is second eldest?? he smirk grew wider, ?and then my eldest brother, Aconar??

*Damn! Three of them?And I bet they?re a lot stronger then this one?* she thought to herself again.

?You might be strong, but you?ll never beat my brothers!? he growled, ?They?ll kill you for this??

?Give me the dragon balls you took?? she said sternly.

?No!? he growled, ?I?ll never give it to you!!? 18 hadn?t noticed it but Kento was actually building up his ki, he managed to push her off him and he stumbled to his feet, ?I?ll kill you, then my brother will rule!!? he said manically as his ki level grew immensely, *he could blow this whole town off the planet with all that ki!!*

There was only one thing to do, and she had to do it fast, he was already forming a ki ball in his hands.

She got to her feet and held out her hand pointing her finger at Kento, he didn?t see her as she charged some ki at the tip of her finger; she fired the finger beam directly at his throat blowing a hole into it, but not all the way through.

He widened his eyes then fell back, letting his ki ball fly high into the air and disappear, he gripped at his throat and struggled on the ground, even though he was bad, and killed so many, 18 felt bad for what she had done, and now she had to finish it.

She walked up to him, ?Give me the dragon ball, I?ll put you to rest?If not, I?ll leave you to suffer here in pain?? he couldn?t speak, but he obviously didn?t want to go through the pain.

Kento nodded and pulled out the dragon ball from one of his pockets, *If I would have known it was there I could have gotten it a while ago?* she thought to herself and sighed then grabbed the dragon ball.

He was obviously in a lot of pain as blood gushed out of the hole in his neck, spilling to the ground. She pointed her finger at his forehead and fired another finger beam, this time blowing a hole right through his forehead and skull, he twitched slightly then lay still on the ground, his demon like eyes rolled back into his skull and his head lolled to one side.

18 sighed softly and walked away from the bloodied mangled body of the once powerful being known as Kento. The sun was already high in the sky and big puffy clouds were passing by slowly in the sky. 18 made her way out of the partially destroyed town, ?Maybe they?ll re-build it?? she said softly to herself, feeling bad for all the people who lost their homes.

She stood beside the big boulder she had slept on the night before, she leaned back lightly against it and looked at the dragon ball, ?It?s so beautiful?? she murmured as she stared into it deeply, admiring its deep orange perfection. She ran her thumb lightly against its surface where two little red stars gleamed under the light from the sun, ?I promised I?d return this to that man?? she said, ?I can?t give it to him now?If I do Adrian and his brother will most likely come back for it?? she began to worry, ?No?It?ll be ok if I give it back now.? She nodded at this and put the dragon ball in one of her pockets.

18 moved her hand to her face and tucked some lose hairs behind one ear then held her hand above her eyebrows to shield her eyes from the sun as she gazed into the distance, ?Now, I just have to figure out where that man went?? she thought hard, ?I told him to go to a near by town?? she looked off to the left, ?Hopefully he?s there.?

She let out a little ki as a white aura shot around her body and she took off into the sky gracefully, leaving a light ki trail drift behind her.

The clouds had darkened and the wind was blowing a little harder than before, the clouds rolled on darkly gathering together, a storm, or rain was on its way, *I don?t like the look of those clouds?* she thought as she continued onward.

The wind whipped against her face as she flew on through the dark clouds. She was obviously still tired from the fight she had, even she knew it, but she kept pushing herself onward, ?Where is that town?? she said tiredly, she felt weak, ?I shouldn?t have used all my ki in that fight?? she mumbled as things grew faint.

She continued through the sky, but not as fast and swift, she kept dipping and she had to rub her eyes frequently, then it started to rain. Small rain drops hit against her face, ?I should have been there by now!? she said angrily, it had gotten even darker in the sky as the rain continued on, harder against her face, soaking her completely and chilling her deeply.

?I-I can?t go on?? she stuttered and started to fall from the sky, the flight had drained her of all her energy, she plummeted through the sky to the ground, slightly unconscious. Though 18 hadn?t been watching where she was going, the darkness of the clouds had pretty much blinded her; she had been over a wide lake.

18 hit the water and began sinking down into it, her hair swayed and waved to the motion of the water as she continued sinking into the depth of the chilling lake. She opened her eyes slowly and looked forward, *What am I doing?* she wondered and shut her eyes again, *I have to keep going?* she looked up at and began swimming toward the surface of the water.

She splashed out into the air again and breathed deeply, ?I could have drown?? she huffed and looked around, it was still raining heavily but the wind had settled to a slight breeze that moved her to the motion of the cool water.

She looked to the side and found land, ?I can?t fly in this rain?I?ll just have to swim?? she checked her pocket too see if the dragon ball was still there, gratefully it was. She started to swim to the land that she had spotted out, swimming at a good pace so she didn?t tire herself out.

She swam on as the rain poured down on her and the water, ?I hate water.? She grumbled as she finally reached the land, she climbed out onto the muddy bank, getting mud on her clothes, ?Ugh, great now I need new clothes.? She said angrily to herself.

She looked around, a forest lay in front of her, it was dark and it was hard to tell how deep it was, ?The town is probably past this forest.? She said quietly as the rain ran heavily down onto her.

Her hair was messed and stuck to her cheek, she pushed some hair behind one ear and walked into the forest, it wasn?t raining as bad inside of it because the trees blocked most of it out.

She had to find some kind of shelter, it was coming up for night and she was freezing. She had walked a long time into the forest, when she spotted a small cave in the wall of a small cliff, ?I hope there?s nothing in it?? she worried and walked toward it.

It was dark and musky inside as she walked part way into it, there didn?t seem to be anyone or anything inside of it, but there were small white animal bones scattered in one corner of the small chamber.

?It?s better than nothing.? She said with a sigh and sat down against one wall of the cave; she brought her knees up to her chest slightly and hugged them to herself. She leaned her head back against the wall softly and listened to the beating rain outside, and the trees blowing in the breeze from the wind.

The sounds of it made her sleepy, she closed her eyes and yawned slightly, ?I should get some sleep.? She said to herself and opened her eyes half way to look around, ?I hope nothing comes here and mistakes me for supper?? she chuckled softly.

She lay down on her side on the ground using her arms as a pillow, she closed her eyes and fell asleep listening again to the wind drifting softly through the trees and blowing the rain against them.

18 awoke to the sun lightly dancing across her face through the trees, it must have been morning and the rain had obviously stopped, though it was still damp and misty like outside the cave. Nothing had come for her during the night, but then again how was she to know? she had slept in a deep sleep.

She looked through the opening in the little cave and yawned as she sat up, she was still wet and her hair wasn?t as neat and soft like it use to be, it was dirty and messy. She stood up and stretched, she felt a lot stronger now that she had rest.

She walked out into the soft sunlight; it was warm out, not hot but not quite cold. She looked around and walked further out, ?I?m hungry.? She groaned slightly, ?I guess?? she squinted her eyes and stared onward, ?I?ll just have to hunt.? She continued and walked deeper on, but kept the cave in sight.

Lots of different small animals ran around, from rabbits to fox, squirrels and birds, but she needed something bigger then that. She knew how she was going to kill the animal, that was simple, but finding it was the hard part. The forest looked like it consisted of just small animals, not a large one in sight.

Then she shifted her eyes to the right as she heard a rustle in a bush, it wasn?t the wind, that was for sure, the wind was quite pleasant that day, but it wasn?t a small animal, it was much bigger, 18 wondered what it could be, but she soon found out as a medium sized dinosaur broke out of the bush and charged toward her, obviously it too was looking for food and was planning on making her the main course!

It?s white razor teeth glimmered in the sun light as its mouth gapped and drool dripped down out of it, it roared loudly and almost ran right into her, but she rolled to the side out of its way. It quickly spun its shinny green scaled tail at her, she acted quick and flipped over it landing on its back and holding on tight.

The dinosaur roared louder and tried shaking her off, she gripped its eyes and clawed at them so the dinosaur was blinded, she then flipped off it and softly landed a few feet in front of it. It stretched its head upward in pain from being scratched in the eyes, then 18 took her chance and charged some ki, she pointed her finger toward the dinosaurs unprotected neck and fired a finger beam, the dinosaur roared in pain as blood spilled out of the hole in its neck, she fired another one this time aiming for its chest burning a hole right through its heart and out its back.

The dinosaur let out a loud roaring yelp and fell to the ground spilling blood all over. It lay still and dead as 18 walked toward it, picked up its tail and started to drag it back to the cave.

18 dragged the dinosaur all the way back to the cave and lay it near the entrance, ?Ok?Now how am I suppose to cut this thing open?? she said and looked around, she looked to the corner where bones were scattered and thought. She walked to the bones and picked through them till she found a nice long white bone that was sharp, ?It looks like a fang?? she said as she looked it over.

She walked back to the dinosaur and started to cut along one of its hind legs, the bone surprisingly cut nice and deep into the tough green scale like skin, blood dripped all over as she sliced big pieces of meat off, when she had three pieces around the size of two fists she stood up, ?Ok?I don?t really want to eat this raw?? she looked around, ?I need a fire.?

18 walked out of the cave and looked around for some wood, most of the trees were still wet but the sun had dried some of them. She walked around a while until she found a nice dry fallen tree; the bark and some of the limbs on it were perfect for making a fire. She ripped off chunks of bark and a bundle of twigs so she had a nice little pile in her arms.

She walked back to the cave, gratefully the dinosaur was still there and her already cut meat too. She piled the bundle of bark and twigs on the ground close to the entrance, ?This is good for starting a fire, but I?ll need bigger wood to keep it going.? She thought a moment and walked back out of the cave to the fallen dead tree.

She began to pull off a large branch, she pulled hard on it and scrunched up her face as a white aura shot around her and she raised her ki, she pulled once more and the branch ripped off with a crack.

?There.? She said and pulled the branch back to the cave; she set it down and thought, ?I?ll just?Set the whole thing on fire.? She nodded and pushed all the wood and bark together, and then she pointed her hand toward the pile of wood and charged some ki in it, the ki gathered into a ball and she fired it at the wood. The wood went up in flames and crackled, the heat washed over her and warmed her deeply, ?That?s better?? she said smiling.

She picked up the meat she had cut and set them in the fire on the burning log. Soon the meat was sizzling as juices from is dripped onto the log and the smells from it drifted in the air, 18 sat on the ground with her knees slightly up and watched the fire and the meat, her stomach growled slightly.

It was well past noon and 18 was finally warm and dry, though she was dirty. The meat was finally done and she was starving. She picked the meat out of the fire and took a bite out of it, it was juicy and cooked just right and the tasted lingered in her mouth.
She had finished all the meat that she cooked up and was full and happy, she looked out toward the sky, it was still light out, but the time had passed so quickly and the sun would be setting sooner than she hopped, ?I wonder if Adrian and his brother found out about Kento?? she said softly as she sat staring at the sky as a bird flew by.

She got to her feet and picked up the dinosaur carcass by the tail, ?I won?t be needing this.? She said and dragged it out of the cave and through the forest, she walked for a while with it and left it by the dead tree she had been to earlier, ?Maybe there?s someone, or something out there that?s hungry.? She shrugged to herself and walked back to the cave.

She sat down by the fire that was still a light but was slowly dying, she lay down on her back and stared at the ceiling of the cave, she rested her arms under her head and shut her eyes. The sun slowly set across the horizon, ?I?ll fly toward the town and return the dragon to that man?? she said, then quickly checked if the dragon ball was still in her pocket, it was, she let out a slight sigh and continued to drift to sleep as a wolf howled in the distance.

The night rolled on, the wind blew softly through the trees causing them to creak softly. As 18 slept, other things stirred though the night. Far away, not too far but far none the less, Adrian and his brother lurked, in the darkness of a mountain lay the ship in which these brothers had come, where the two of the brothers left discussed on what to do, and who had killed their youngest brother, it infuriated Adrian when he found out about Kento, yet his brother Aconar seemed emotionless and calm minded, as if it was just another pathetic life gone.

?How can you just sit there like that??? Arian said narrowing his eyes, ?He was your brother!? his dark blue eyes seemed to burn in the darkness and his long flowing hair lay lazily back, his bangs fell over his face covering most of it, as if he hadn?t slept in a long time, if he did sleep at all.

?Yes?He was my brother, but he was weak and that was his flaw, power hungry?? Aconar said in a soft voice that seemed to float like the wind, he sat in a chair with his back facing Adrian, ?And you left the other dragon ball with him?? he pushed his fingers together in front of himself, his calm cool eyes staying closed the whole time, ?Fool?Now you?re going to have to get it back??

Adrian felt angry inside, but it wasn?t best to argue with Aconar, he was far more powerful them himself, and he wanted to avenge Kento anyway; ?I?ll get that dragon ball, and I?ll kill whoever did this?? he turned toward the doorway.

?Oh Adrian?? Aconar said in an almost whisper, ?Be careful, I don?t want to see you end up like Kento?? he smirked softly to himself as Adrian seemed to mutter something under his breathe and walk out of the dark room.

The sun peaked softly into the cave where Android 18 slept, she woke up slightly startled, sweat slid down the side of her face and she was breathing heavily, a light mist lay in the air and it was slightly chilly. 18 stood up and walked out of the cave, ?Strange dream?? she muttered and looked toward the sky, it was still early morning and birds were chirping lively in the trees.

She slid one hand through her hair, combing it as best she could then looked around, ?I better go.? She said and jumped into the air flying out over the forest. She flew high enough so she could see most of the land around her, ?Ugh, now I know where I am!? she said feeling slightly stupid, ?The town is north west.? She looked in that direction and could already see roads leading toward the town, ?That?s probably where that man went, I hope.?

She took off toward the town, as the forest below lessened into fields and the town came well into view, she lowered to the ground right outside the town, she walked inward, there were lots of small stands out with fruits and goods, *Good, it doesn?t look like they?ve been here?* 18 thought to herself, Adrian and his brother had probably found out about Kento by now, and she was glad that they hadn?t come to this town yet.

She looked around more as she made her way through the busy market streets, as she neared the center of town she heard music playing, it was a happy like tune, and she could also hear people laughing, it sounded like a party of some sort.

She turned around a corner, and then realized what those sounds were from, the town was having a parade, ?Well?At least some people are having fun.? 18 said slightly, forcing a smile to form on her face. She walked toward a small cherry blossom tree and leaned against it, she watched the parade as blossoms fell down softly around adding to the beauty of the town. There were dancers and the music was lovely, ?If that man?s here I?m sure he?ll be at this parade?? she squinted her eyes and looked around trying to spot him.

?I should have asked what his name was?? she grumbled lightly, she sighed, ?I don?t think I?m going to find him?? she dropped her gaze to the ground and taped the dragon ball lightly in her pocket.

?Hey its you!? someone said, 18 shoot you gaze up quickly, but didn?t see anyone, she looked to both sides, but no one was near by, ?Over here!? the person said again.

18 turned around, there was the same man she met before, but he looked different, now his hair wasn?t messy but nicely combed back, his clothes were clean and colorful, probably to go well with the occasion, and there was a girl with him, ?I knew I?d see you again!? he ran toward her and hugged her, 18 was slightly surprised that he was hugging her, when he only met her once.

He stepped back as the girl that was with him came closer, a warm smile lit her face, and she was wearing a nice blue dress that came down to her knees, her hair was in a braid, and she was carrying a basket ?It?s really good to see you, what happened?? he blinked and looked over 18, her clothes dirty and her hair just as bad.

?I guess you could say I went camping?? she said, and looked down at her own clothes, and then her stomach growled, she blinked slightly.

The man chuckled, ?Come with us, we?ll have lunch, and talk.? He said and started walking toward a house, the girl following right behind. 18 took one more look at the parade and followed the two toward the house.

18 followed the two into the house, it was beautiful and big. They walked down a long hall and into a room with a table and 4 chairs, ?Sit down, please, I?m sure you?re tired.? 18 blinked and then sat down in one of the chairs, she wasn?t all that tired, but she was hungry and in serious need of a bath.

?Jennifer, go get something for lunch.? The man said to the girl with the basket. She nodded and walked through a door probably leading to the kitchen. The man sat down opposite of 18 and smiled, ?I guess you?re probably wondering what my name is,? he paused, ?I?m wondering what yours is, myself.?

Jennifer came back with 3 bowls of steaming soup and a bowl of fruit; she then sat down at the table beside the man, ?This is Jennifer, I told her about the attack in Quex Town and she?s let me live here since I came.? Jennifer smiled and began eating her soup quietly; ?My name is Jake, and yours is?? he looked toward 18 who had just picked up her spoon.

?You can call me?? she paused, ?18.? Then she spooned some soup into her mouth, she never realized it but she was actually famished, the soup tasted so rich and lovely it made her mouth water.

?And?My home, how is it?? he asked sounding hopeful.

?I really don?t know?? 18 replied, setting her spoon lightly in her bowl, ?After I had killed one of those men, I left, most of the town was destroyed, but I?m sure it?s still livable.? She paused, then looked at him, ?but it would be safer if you stayed here, they could go back anytime.? She continued eating her soup.

Jake ate his soup too, while 18 thought, *Poor man?No where is safe, until Adrian and Aconar are destroyed?* Jake cleared his throat and looked at 18 again.

?Did you get my fathers dragon ball back?? he asked softly, still hurt from losing his father. 18 shifted slightly and reached into her pocket where the dragon ball was, she pulled it out and handed it to Jake.

She smiled lightly, ?That I did do, but take care of it?I fear those men will come back for it.? She finished her soup and leaned back slightly.

?Thank you so much!? he said, his face looked happy and joyful. He stood up and went to a fireplace at one end of the room; he rested the dragon ball in a pillow below a portrait of a dragon with Japanese symbols around it, he bowed his head then walked back to the table, ?I can not thank you enough, that dragon ball is all I have left of my father, to me it is priceless.? 18 was glad to see Jake was happy, that was a good thing to see.

Jennifer stood up, ?I?ll give you new clothing if you would like, and you may wash up.? She smiled softly, obviously noticing 18?s dirty clothing and hair.

?Yes, thank you, I?d much appreciate that.? 18 replied and stood up, Jennifer walked half way out of another door at the far end of the room, 18 followed through as they walked down a short hall, they stopped at a door that was slightly ajar.

?Here is the bathroom where you can wash up.? She walked across the hall into a bedroom, 18 walked into the bathroom and looked around, she flicked on the light and walked to the mirror.

?Gah!? she dropped her jaw and widened her eyes, she looked horrible, well at least she thought that. Her hair was dirty and had twigs and mud stuck in it, her face had dirt and mud on it, her clothing muddy and wrinkled up. 18 laughed somewhat and shook her head as Jennifer walked in with a bundle of clothing in her arms.

?Here?s some new clothing, I?m sure you?ll like them.? She smiled warmly, ?Take your time, and you?re free to spend the night.? She turned around and walked out of the bathroom closing the door behind her.

Adrian strolled swiftly through a long grey hall toward a door he pressed a button on a panel beside the door and it slid up. He walked through and stopped when he was a few feet inside, the door slid closed behind him. He drew one pale white hand to his face and brushed his bangs away from his face.

He looked around the small room; it was grey with a small luminous light in the ceiling in one corner, there was a small counter like desk against one wall and a bed on the opposite side. Adrian walked to the desk and picked up a silver brush and began brushing his long green hair, his eyes stared coldly and emotionlessly forward, ?I know who killed him?? he said to himself, ?It must have been that girl.?

He put the brush down and opened a box on the table that held the dragon ball he had, ?She obviously wanted to dragon ball, it wasn?t with Kento?s body?? he held it in one hand and thought, ?But Kento should have easily killed her!? he felt angry, ?she was just a weak human!? suddenly his anger left him, ?But what if she isn?t human?? he put the dragon ball back and locked the box.

?Maybe she just looks human, but she?s really something else.? He mused on about this as he picked up a hair tie and tied his hair neatly back, looking much better then before, ?Perhaps she?s another being?? he walked toward the door and pushed a button on the panel, the door slid upward and he stepped back out into the long dull hall, the door slid back down as he walked down the hall holding his hands behind himself.

?Well?Whatever she is, I?ll kill her and avenge Kento.? He smirked, ?She can?t be that tough, she might have beat Kento,? he stopped at the end of the hall where another door lay in front of him, ?but I?m a lot stronger then he was, I will beat her easily!? he sneered and pushed a button on the panel beside the door, the door slid upward revealing the open land in front of Adrian.

The sun was still in the sky, not yet setting but close it, clouds were scattered lazily in the sky casting shadows softly along the canyon below. Adrian looked down from inside the doorway, there was a small cliff then a straight death drop downward, ?This was a good place to land?No one will ever find us here.? He looked to the north, ?Heh, and I know where she is?I can already feel her power.?

He stepped back in and the door slid down again, ?I?ll leave soon, I should make it there by early morning?? he turned away from the door and strolled down the hall again, he stepped to his room door and opened it. He stepped in and smirked, ?Tomorrow I?ll avenge you brother?? he said softly and the door slid closed.

18 opened the door to the bathroom and stepped out, her hair was damp and neatly brushed and she had her new clothes on, dark blue denim shorts, a white shirt and even a black vest, ?Nice clothes?I really like them.? She smiled to herself and put her old clothes in the laundry hamper in the hall then began making her way back to the dinning room. She walked down the hall and looked at portraits of people on it, when she made her way to the dinning room she walked in.

?Ah, good to see you cleaned up!? Jake said looking her over, ?Nice outfit too.? He looked at Jennifer, she smiled.

?It was my sisters, you can keep it?She moved out.? She said and stood up from the table, ?Come to the living room and we?ll have tea.? She grinned and walked out of one of the doors. Jake stood up and flashed a smile at 18 then followed through the door.
18 followed them as they walked down another long hall, then through a door leading into an open room with a sofa a sofa chair and a coffee table. Jake sat down on the sofa and leaned back into it, ?You two just wait here, I?ll get the tea.? Jennifer smiled and walked out of the room.

18 scanned the room slowly, there was a bookcase and more portraits of people, she walked to the bookcase, Jake picked up a newspaper from on the coffee table and read the front page.

18 glanced over the books, reading some of the tittles, there were books on astrology and books on animals even some books on arithmetic. 18 pulled a book about dinosaurs off the shelf and flipped through the pages. She stopped on a page with a picture of a dinosaur that looked like the one she had killed, ?Giganotosaurus?Cool.? She smirked, ?Says it?s an excellent fighter?? she shook her head lightly and slid the book back onto the shelf and walked to the sofa chair and sat down.

Jennifer walked in holding a tray with three cups, a teapot full of steaming tea, and some cookies, ?I hope this is good.? Jennifer smiled and set it down on the coffee table and sat down on the sofa with Jake.

?I?m sure it?s fine.? 18 smiled back and poured herself a cup of tea, Jake did the same after 18 and poured a cup for Jennifer as well, "This is a big place, and beautiful..." and said looking around the room as Jake gave Jennifer her tea.

"Yes, it's my, I own it now and I let some of the homeless live here." Jennifer smiled, "I just hope someday I'll have a family of my own, and they will live here." Jake almost seemed to blush at that.

?So, I?d like to ask you 18,? Jake coughed slightly then straightened up, ?who were those men that attacked my home?? he looked at 18.

18 paused and thought, *I can?t tell them who they really were?I don?t want them to panic?* she looked back, ?They were?Robbers.? She nodded, ?They had bombs and guns, and all sorts of dangerous weapons.? She sipped her tea, *I hope they believe that?* Jennifer?s mouth opened ajar.

?How did you get the dragon ball back? You had no weapons with you.? She asked with surprise, Jake too was surprised.

?Well?? 18 thought, ?I got them off guard, and they were uh?? she paused, ?They were busy looking at the dragon ball they had stolen from you.? *Yeah! That?s it?* she sipped more of her tea.

?You said I shouldn?t go back to my old home?Cause they might come back,? he blinked somewhat, ?didn?t you call the police on them?? Jennifer drank some of her tea then nodded.

18 looked at them, ?I couldn?t?They uh?Got away, they were fast?I only managed to get your dragon ball back.? She picked up a cookie and nibbled on it, ?I?m going to look for them, tomorrow, and return whatever else they had stolen.?

Jake smiled, ?Good for you! We need more people like you these days.? He drank some of his tea and smiled more.

18 had finished her tea and the rest of her cookie, ?Where am I going to sleep?? she asked and brushed some of her hair from her eyes.

?You may sleep in my sisters? old room; I?ll take you back there.? Jennifer said and put her cup down.

?Okay, thanks?? 18 stood up, then walked to the door.

?You can go to bed too, if you?d like Jake.? Jennifer said to Jake as he put his cup down and picked up a cookie and the newspaper.

?I think I?ll just read for a while, and then I?ll hit the sack.? He grinned and began reading the paper, as 18 and Jennifer left the room.

They walked back through the hall and through the dinning room; the dragon ball was still above the fireplace shinning beautifully in the lightly lit room. They walked through the door and into the long hall leading to the bathroom and Jennifer?s sister?s room. They stopped at the door across from the bathroom.

?This is the room; feel free to use the bathroom anytime.? Jennifer said and smiled, ?If you need anything my room is actually just down the hall.? She nodded slightly and began walking down the hall.

18 walked into the room and shut the door behind her. It was dark in the room, and hard to see, the only light was from the moon outside shining through a set of glass doors. 18 flicked on the light switch and looked around the room, it was beautiful, there was a desk with little unicorn statues and makeup, a bed with blue fluffy blankets and blue pillows, and a balcony which the glass doors lead too.

18 walked to the door and looked out, ?I?ll leave early morning, before Jake and Jennifer wake up?? she looked at the moon, it wasn?t full but it was still beautiful and bright, shining down on her face making it pale and her eyes burn blue into the night, ?It?s best that way?? she nodded softly and walked to the bed and sat down, ?I can already feel a strong ki level?? she lay down on the bed resting her arms behind her head and staring at the ceiling.

?I?ll have to do away with both Adrian and Aconar?? she sighed softly, ?I?m sure I can do it?I need confidence.? She shut her eyes and began to fall into a light sleep, still feeling the immense power Adrian held as he made himself ready to hopefully destroy Android 18 and avenge his brother.

18 shot open her eyes and sat up; she could feel Adrian?s power coming closer. She stood off the bed and walked to the glass doors, she opened them and walked out onto the balcony, the sky was a dark purplish blue and the sun was lightly rising against the horizon, ?I better go.? She said softly as the suns light spread softly against the landscape, the nice thing was that the balcony was facing the plains and fields, and the town was more in front of the house.

?I can?t just leave without saying thank you?? she thought a moment, ?I know!? she walked back into the room and dug through a few drawers in the desk until she found some paper, ?I?ll write a note.? She looked around and found a pencil on the desk. She wrote on the paper then read it out loud, ?Dear Jake and Jennifer, I?m sorry I had to leave without saying goodbye, but I had important business elsewhere. Thank you for everything, and take care.? She nodded; ?Perfect!? she set the note on the desk and walked back out onto the balcony.

?Oh shoot! My old clothes.? She scrunched up her face, ?I?ll just leave them here, who knows?Maybe I?ll come back.? She shrugged and closed the door behind her, ?I hope?? she paused a moment, ?I hope I can win this?? the sun had peaked slightly higher into the sky and wispy clouds were trailing a long in the sky softly.

She clutched her fists lightly at her sides as a white aura surrounded her body, and then took off into the sky heading toward Adrian and she knew this wouldn?t be easy.

18 trailed across the sky looking every which way for Adrian, ?Where is he?? she murmured then she stopped when she saw it, a green luminous light heading her way, his blue eyes burning through her, he stopped a dozen feet or so in front of her.

?What are you?? he said coldly, staring at her, he folded his arms across his chest, his hair lightly blew behind him, tied neatly.

?What do you mean??? 18 smirked and stared at him as well as the wind blew too around her causing her hair to softly blow at the side.

?You know what I mean?? he narrowed his eyes, ?No human could have killed my brother!? he let his hands drop to his sides as he clutched them angrily, ?Now, what are you!?

18 smirked, *Getting angry already?Maybe that?s his weakness?* she thought to herself, ?I?m an android you pathetic fool!? she smirked a little more, slightly provoking him.

?How dare you call me pathetic! And a fool!? he grit his teeth, ?I?ll kill you?I?ll avenge Kento?You shall perish!? He began laughing an insane maniac like laughter.

18 brought one hand to her mouth and pretended to yawn, then looked at her wrist pretending she was looking at a watch, ?Can you stop blabbing?? she looked at him and smiled, ?I have a hair appointment.?

Adrian dropped his jaw slightly, ?You? insolent? weak fool!? he clutched his fists tighter and scrunched up his face, then let out some ki, pushing 18 back slightly. She held up her arms somewhat then dropped them back down when he was done, ?You are a disgraceful fighter!? he was really angry, 18 could tell, his eyes seemed like fire, his lips were pursed, and a his once pale blue skin, now had a tinge of red in it from his anger.

18 chuckled softly, ?Yeah, and you talk way to much you air balloon!? she laughed somewhat, *the more I provoke him, the more his anger takes over?* she thought as she laughed, then straightened up and crossed her arms, *this will be easier than I thought?He?ll be blinded by his anger and his pride?*

?You-you!!? he stammered then flew toward her swiftly, he held up his fist aiming it for her face, 18 uncrossed her arms quickly and grabbed his fist then began squeezing it tightly, ?I?ll destroy you within seconds!? he growled in her face.

?I have my watch set.? She smiled back then kneed him hard in the gut causing him to double over in the air, she hammered down but he quickly flew to the right and then kicked her hard in the side, 18 cursed and dodged an oncoming uppercut.

*He?s fast?But I still need to anger him more?* she flew back a few feet from him as he straightened up and looked coldly at her, ?What?s wrong pretty boy? Can?t beat a girl!?? she mocked and smirked.

?You take that back!? he growled and flew at her again, this time 18 didn?t catch his fist, he nailed her hard in the cheek causing her to fly back. 18 stopped herself when she had moved a good 10 feet away from him and rubbed her cheek.

?Heh?You?re weak!? she taunted again, ?School girls could fight better than that.? She laughed, *Damn?That one really did hurt* she rubbed her cheek some more then got in a stance in the air.

?That?s it! Now I?m angry!? he yelled and let out some ki as a dark green aura flew around him, 18 knew she had to provoke him no more, now he was so full of rage even his left eye was twitching.

She let out some ki as a yellow aura blew around her and she stared toward him, he was breathing heavily. He shot toward her and kneed up planning on hitting her gut, but 18 had moved up and kicked him hard in the face pushing him back, he swore and punched up, hitting her gut quite hard causing her to double over. He laughed and punched at her gut again, but she kicked his hand away then hammered hard down on his head.

Both fighters moved away from each other, Adrian was furious and 18 was quite the opposite, she was breathing heavily but was calm, ?You?re a fool! A fool!? he spat and then raised his power level, 18 dropped her jaw slightly.

*He?s powerful?I?m not going to raise mine just yet?? she smirked, *He might have power?but he obviously lost his mind power with all that fury?I have my intelligence and I?m probably faster than him?So-* her thoughts were cut short when Adrian flew at her and kicked hard across her chest.

18 moved back and coughed, *Ok, now I have to stop thinking, and start acting!* she dodged a punch he had flung at her and then flew right at him, they locked hands and their auras blew brighter and stronger around the two. Ki crackled along their arms as their power crushed between them, 18 squeezed Adrian?s hands hard and stared coldly at him, he growled, his upper lip twitched slightly as he squeezed back, even tighter.

18 then buried her knee hard into his gut, not letting go of his hands as he lunged forward. She let go of one hand and then moved quickly behind him bringing his arm with her so that it was painfully pulled tightly against his back, Adrian let out a loud scream and straightened back up as the pressure on his arm hurt immensely.

18 grabbed around and pulled his other arm around back, putting it in the same position as his other arm, rendering him slightly helpless, *I know he can get out of this?But lets hope his mind is too clouded with his anger.* she squeezed his arms, ?I want some answers from you?? she said in an almost whisper, ?Where?s your brother??? she said again.

?He?s dead!? he yelled angrily, ?You fool?? he struggled to free his arms then yelped loudly when 18 pulled harder on them.

?I?m talking about Aconar?? she said again, ?Yes; Kento told me?Now where is he???

?In our ship!? he growled feeling inferior; he stared coldly at the ground.

?Let me make this clear,? she cleared her throat, ?where is your brother, as in?Where exactly is he? Do you get it? Do you want me to spell out each word for you?? she almost laughed at that but held it in.

?He?s in our ship?? he said, 18 pulled his arms again, ?The ship is south east from here!? he sniveled, ?In a canyon?? he then smirked.

Adrian let out a lot of ki causing 18 to let go of him as she held her arms up while getting pushed back, he turned to face her as she got in a stance and stared at him, ?You might know where he is now, but you?ll never get there if I kill you!? he started laughing, ?and I will kill you?I will??

18 smirked, ?You know?You?re brother thought he was going to kill me, now look what happened?? she continued looking at him, this angered Adrian a lot. He charged at her and started throwing punches at her; she easily dodged them, moving every which way. His attacks had grown clumsy, and easy to avoid.

She kicked him hard in the gut making him gasp and fall slightly forward, she slid behind him and kicked hard down against his spine making him fall down to the ground. She quickly faded then reappeared under the falling fighter and uppercut hard into his gut pushing him back up into the air; blood dripped out of his mouth as he flew through the air then yelled madly letting his power fly right to the max.

18 froze as Adrian stopped and breathed heavily, he wiped the blood from his chin, and stared at her, she smiled, ?I guess I better power up to my most then?? she looked back at him, he almost looked surprised, obviously thinking she already was at her max.

18 clutched her fists tightly and yelled as her aura brightened and the wind picked up slightly, her ki raised to its full, matching almost to Adrian?s though he was still more powerful, he lacked in intelligence.

?It?s time to end this?? she said and smirked, ?You?re brother said you were strong, and you would beat me with ease?? Adrian felt almost scared by 18?s composure.

She held her arms out at her sides and concentrated hard, Adrian blinked confusingly, ?What are you doing??? he said. She started charging ki in both of her hands as it surged up her arms and crackled in her hands, two ki balls began forming in her hands as she pushed ki into them, Adrian widened his eyes and dropped his jaw, then opened one hand toward her charging his own ki into it hoping to stop her.

She scrunched up her face and then brought the two balls of ki together in front of her pushing them together forming one big ki ball. Adrian began sweating as he tried to push more ki into his hand, but it wasn?t enough and he was already too late, 18 pushed more ki into the ki in her hands building it more and more powerful and deadly, ?Goodbye?? she almost whispered and then screamed, ?FINAL FLASH!!!!? and fired the ki at Adrian.

Adrian, who was busy trying to form a worthy enough ki beam was taking by surprise and hit hard by 18?s final flash. The beam engulfed him totally, as he screamed in agony then was burned to nothing.

18 dropped her arms at her sides and slowly lowered to the ground, she landed softly and stared at the ground, ?I still hate killing?? she muttered softly, ?Maybe that?s my flaw?? she looked up into the sky, it was well past noon by the look of the sun, maybe close to supper, ?Now I have to destroy Aconar?? she had a terrible feeling about that, ?It would be safer if I go back to Jennifer and Jake,? She rubbed the back of her neck, ?that fight made me hungry anyway.? She turned around and shot up into the air and began making her way back to the town.
