My biggest problem with Chubbs was always that quests, spars and personal roleplays were completely inproportionate in reward (for 3000 words each, you might get 5 TP and 500 Zeni, 3 TP and 30 Zeni, and nothing, respectively. My best work, TMW2, got nothing because of this
) and that weekly training was always more important for power than actual roleplaying done. But if I'm not mistaken, personal roleplays are allowed to be graded like quests now, right?
Ages and ages ago (probably almost a year) I PMed Rad some stuff about grading systems, and he/we came up with something that was similar to this. I don't know if was ever implemented, but in case it was forgotten, it went something like this:
When someone submits a personal roleplay, spar or quest for grading, staff rates it from 1 to 10. 5 is an average roleplay, 1 is Metal Bon Para, 10 is an accomplished roleplayer writing the most incredible, gripping story you've ever seen on an RPG. If there's time, multiple staff can grade it and use an average for the reward (to eliminate bias). Obviously the grading is done on the staff forum, and staffers can't grade their own work.
For every 1000 words a member does, they get X TP and X0 Zeni (where X is the grade from 1-10). So an 'average' quality 5000-word roleplay might earn 5 TP and 50 Zeni. These are arbitrary numbers, but you get the idea. In reality I'd probably up the rewards because of what Belle said.
Obviously it's not perfect, but I think it's a hell of a lot fairer than the old system (10,000 word spar gets 3 TP/30 Zeni each, 5000-word roleplay gets 20 TP and 2000 Zeni). If something like this WAS implemented, then feel free to totally ignore this post
