[Warhammer Online] Da big swords are fer hittin stunties!
#73
This game owns.

My first impressions were fairly bland, I think your initial growth is kinda slow. Your character seems to be missing large pieces until you start to approach Rank 10 - then you get more vital abilities and PvP becomes a lot more fun.

So far the Gobbo Shaman is everything I hoped for and more. It has the buffing, healing, killing blend I've always wanted. So far no other game has such a class with the healing/killing dynamic (which really makes it for me) so I think this is going to be a long-term subscription. I'm level 9 at the moment, 5 on my Chosen and White Lion.

I also like how there's less 'padding' (ie making you do things just to extend the gametime for those who like to play 24/7) compared to WoW. You don't have to worry about certain spells being better/worse at certain levels, since you don't have to pay for upgrades (a stupid goldsink if ever there was one) - they level with your character once you've bought them. No durability on armour either.

I also feel like loot is very de-emphasized now that you pretty much only find loot for your own class. It's more about the game. From what I can tell, the focus is off 4-hour raids as well, and replaced with dynamic PvP. Considering I hated raiding in WoW and loved PvP, WAR is pretty much a dream come true for me.

It's not perfect, but considering it's just launched and it's got so many things right I am very optimistic about the future of this game.
