[Warhammer Online] Da big swords are fer hittin stunties!
#42
I realize that. It's still complete bullshit. The range on Earthbind is crap, and the totem has like 5 hitpoints. Totems can't be targeted by macros anymore, but the whole totem system is still a piece of junk.

Plus, making abilities pull double-duty and then NOT doing anything to reduce the cooldown is something that they did with Shamanistic Rage and largely failed at. The only reason why more QQ wasn't made about Shammy Rage was that it had a pretty clear delineation between its PvP function and its PvE function. Except for high-end arenas where you were mana starved, SR was used for damage reduction in PvP and mana gain in PvE.

An 'upgraded Earthbind' doesn't benefit from this separation of roles. If this change went through, its two uses would be often occur independent of each other. Sure, I can use an EB to break out of being kited (momentarily), but I'm going to run out of its AOE radius VERY quickly and will not be able to put another one down for 12 seconds. As enhancement in PvP, if I'm ever lucky enough to close on an opponent, I found myself rotating between Frost Shock and Earthbind just to have a hope of keeping squishies within range of my damage. I can't just 'Frost Shock Frost Shock Frost Shock' because my spell interrupt shares its cooldown, and interrupting is key to my survival and my role in combat.

Let's not even get started about how easy the totem is to one-shot.

But you know, we shouldn't even be discussing the viability of Earthbind Totem as the solution, because the justification for removing Spectral Transformation was a load of shit anyways. Not only that, but without Spectral Transformation, our Spirit Wolves are no longer immune to snares/roots.

Lol gg?
