Area D: Day Two
#38
Trudging alone the two part Saiyans were... making their way along the rocky crops of stone that littered their paths. Goten's arm still hung loosely with the burns he had received from in battle, small droplets forming at the sides of his eyes. The loose strands of his blue long sleeved shirt hung to brush against the exposed skin every few steps to cause another rush of pain to enter his body. Pan at least was a little better... Her steps were slow going, still getting used to the fact that her eye sight had left her, still leaning against the small youth at her side as a small crutch to help support her. The battle that they had went through was intense, the most brutal thing that Goten had been through this entire tournament yet it was strange... there was an echo in the back of the hybrid's mind.
"...Goten?" the sound of Kirano's last words had pierced through that continuous momentum of noise and entered the child's ears and now drifted about his mind. The tears grew as Goten sniffled his emotions back, how could he have let his friend down? The one that saved him and he had let him go...
"Goten?" A female voice replaced that of his dead friend's suddenly; realizing that it was Pan's he turned his head suddenly.
"Oh... sorry." Was all that the child could muster out of him as he bowed his head slightly, it wasn't the end of this tournament yet, not by a long shot.
"It's alright, are we close to a bunker? My last senzu bean was too dry for me to eat so I don't really have the strength I once had."
"Um." Goten's head rose and glanced about, there was a small building not too far from their position, it had been the final bunker that Pikkon had visited before the large battle had taken place. With a small nod Goten turned his glance back, speaking with what enthusiasm he could find. "Yeah, it's close too."
"Good."

It had been a while since Goten had last talked to his father, not since they were all sent out to each individual areas to begin the tournament. The memory of Goku placing in his Q-wave signature suddenly popped up into the young warrior's mind; maybe he could send a message? Just so he knew he still had his Dad was still there for him. There was much that had happened in such a short amount of time... it was funny to think that just a few hours ago he was walking with Bulma and 16 through the forests around Area C, now he was trailing in dirt after some forsaken fight that could have been the end of him.
"Gotta make it quick..." Goten muttered as he remembered that, even if the turrets weren't set, he'd much rather make it a quick dash in to that of being caught half way in a hail fire of loose energy blasts.
"We're that close?" Pan asked surprised tilting her head up slightly.
"Yep, think you can fly?"
"Where there's a will there's a way." She responded as her legs bent slightly under her, the hybrid female now knelt beside the small one of opposite sex. Goten had already been close enough to a kneel as he stood bearing the weight of the elder female fighter, kicking off from the ground as they both rushed on head first into the bunker, landing with a grunt on the hard wood floor. A groan escaping Goten as a rush of unbearable pain filled his senses... obviously he had landed on the wrong arm.

The adolescent male hybrid stood up, looking over to where the senzu beans dispensed, thinking it better to do it in an order then have Pan take her own. Snatching one up he ate it, taking the next and handing it to the sightless girl he had came in with, then taking a third to slip in between his belt and pants for if he needed it for later. The rush of new energy into his body was more then what he needed, not feeling the fatigue that bore upon his body yet still feeling something from the bruise upon his arm.
"I'm gonna go out real quick, ok Pan?" Not waiting for a response the child took flight out of the bunker with his new energy in a hazy aura about his body, his hair waving as he flew off to the spot of the battle.

Grounds had already settled as the dusty winds blew about the area, the ruffling of dirt was heard a little ways down from where crimson liquids stained the rough earth. Goten shoved a final pile of rock over a bump in the earth itself, standing to dust his hands off on his clothes before looking back at the two mounds in a silent gesture, tilting his head forward slightly. Upon the earthen mounds small rocks had been organized in specific locations... one reading "Pikkon" and another "Kirano"... a moment of silence filled Goten's mind as he looked upon the resting spots for his friends, his small eyes couldn't perceive death yet for hadn't experienced anything quite like the feelings he had inside. His head turned to wipe his eye on his shoulder before turning about completely to sit on the ground, Goten's hand that hadn't been injured reaching down into his small pocket to draw up a scouter, placing it on his ear.
"Q-wave please." He asked calmly.

Contact List_...

"Contact list." Goten had a little trouble pronouncing 'contact' for a moment till he figured a 't' sound went between the 'con' and 'act'. A list scrolled down, and from this the youth selected the one that read his father's name. For a moment it waited till it had a small 'user is away' sign pop up on the screen. Goten sighed, but then decided to send a little mail like feature that had been along the side panels, the small image on the right bottom hand side said simply 'speak' and so he did.

"Hi Daddy, it's Goten, I wanted to talk to you but that's Ok. I won a big fight thingy today too. I sorta got beat up... but that's Ok too! Oh and someone name Rad said to say hi for him, who's that? I'll talk to you later then, bye."

Goten was happy with this little message, saying 'send' as the next word to watch the words on the screen slip away into a box that read 'sent'. He rose slowly... there was still a lot left of the day but he had wasted too much of his energy already, even with the power of a senzu bean there was still this mist of laziness that hung about him. Turning his head he darted off again, leaving the graves of his friends as he began a return to the bunker he had left Pan at...
