The day had dwindled, and Bardock fully realized that he was about to die. The bunker was nearby, but there was no way to get there with an opponent standing not twenty feet away. Soon his collar would dematerialize his body, sending him back to the desolate dimension from whence he came. It really was a tragic waste. But then again, life was full of its little disappointments.
I'll just have to take out my anger on him. Fuck, I didn't even get a chance to do what I came back to life for, he mentally cursed. Without warning, he charged like a mad bull. Every step, every action would determine his own judgment. If he tried hard enough, he could put it off for another day. Kayoden met his advance with a solid stance.
Five bare knuckles flew through the air in the blink of an eye, aimed straight at the humanoid's face. With lightning reflexes, the adversary moved his own outstretched arm and grabbed the flying fist. Applying the appropriate crushing force, Kayoden had halted the attack easily. Bardock was not discouraged. In these situations, it was best to use one's head, and that's exactly what he did. The Saiya-jin smashed his skull into his opponent's with crippling force. A single moment of distraction was all it took to free himself. Springing backwards with an almost casual flip, Bardock quickly rebounded the second his toes touched the ground. He leapt high into the air and extended his leg, executing a savage spinning back kick. The heel of his boot connected with the stunned Kayoden's temple, knocking him to the ground. Bardock had claimed that little scuffle. The black-haired fighter retreated backwards a few jumps to prepare an energy attack.
Kayoden's head lolled to one side strangely as he staggered to regain his stature. Dragging the upper half of his body upright, the competitor's cranium drooped down onto his chest. Bardock was nearly ready for his next assault. Energy sizzled and crackled in his eager palm, alive with plasmic power. Suddenly, Kayoden's head snapped forward, and within a single breath was several yards away, and then several centimeters away. The Saiya-jin was completely startled. Such speed was beyond his ability to perceive. Two colossal hands reached out, and before Bardock could react, his throat was enclosed in a vice grip. The gathered energy in his hand was scattered, the required degree of concentration for its maintenance lost. All that mattered was extrication.
