Area C: Day Four

Rain continued to fall on the dark and dead battlefield of Area C. The two combatants stared each other down, trying to figure out if the other one was bluffing about their lack of injuries. Android 20 knew he was in trouble. He had wasted far too much energy on that one superfluous attack, and now he would have to be much more conservative. But the saiyan girl showed almost no signs of weariness, which was very unnerving. 20 had to do something, but what? The only two attacks she hadn?t seen yet were the Nova and his energy draining capabilities. He didn?t dare risk using Nova yet, it would waste the rest of his already depleted energy levels. However, the girl was so darn strong it was almost impossible to get close enough to use the energy draining technique. But, it was his only hope at the time, and he was going to give it his all? or die trying.

Android 20 let his dark aura engulf him once more, signaling to Selipa that the battle was to begin once more. The android lunged forward, causing a wave of mud and water to spray behind him. The deluge that consumed the battlefield was making it increasingly difficult to see, so both fighters charged at each other blindly.

Both fighters were much more tired than they were before, but neither of them intended to show it. Their punches moved slower than they used to, and their reflexes were sluggish as well. But they fought on blindly, pushing themselves to the edge to come out on top.

Flashes of lightning illuminated the theatre of war, revealing the two fighters in a different spot, throwing a different attack each time. They danced about the cloudburst, following the forever-rehearsed scheme of attacks that they both knew so well. It seemed as though the very heavens themselves were watching this battle as the bolts of lightning crashed down each time one of the fighters managed to hit the other.

The android knew this battle couldn?t possibly last much longer. He could hear his internal generator humming loudly from all the strain he was putting on his body. He had to act now, or else he would most certainly fall to the saiyan warrior. He saw the dim outline of the girl come plunging through the rain at him, fist extended outwards towards his face. Twenty threw up a hand and grabbed her fist in his. She countered by launching a second punch with her other hand, which 20 grabbed as well. They were in a stalemate. Neither fighter would let the other one break through their defense as the struggled on the ground. Their feet began sliding backwards in the muddy terrain as they attempted to destroy one another.

The machine knew this was his one opportune chance. He allowed both of his energy receptors to open, and began vacuuming energy into himself from the girl. At first, Selipa wasn?t sure what was going on, or why she suddenly felt as if she was about to throw up. But the realization appeared in her mind vividly as she realized that androids were capable of draining the energy right out of life forms.

Selipa shot a knee into the android?s stomach, forcing him to let go, and he crumpled to the ground, holding his stomach. He had managed to drain enough energy so he would be able to last long enough to finish the battle, but that didn?t mean the saiyan had lost much at all. Selipa, furious that she had allowed herself to fall into the machine?s trap, sent a sharp elbow into the android?s spine, knocking him face-first into the over-saturated ground.

He lay there silently, but slowly, his face emerged, covered in the filth. But his eyes were golden. Selipa recognized this attack, and leapt out of harm?s way as the two thin beams of energy shot by her.

The android catapulted himself out of the ground. He had enough energy stored in him to allow him to perform the Nova at full power now, but he wasn?t even sure if it would be enough. The saiyan appeared to have far too much energy left in her, even after he had sucked out some and given it to himself.

Selipa grinned at the android, and cracked her neck while she looked at him. They both knew the battle would be over soon, and one wouldn?t live to see another day. The mechanoid grinned back at her, and they flew at each other once again.

The rain continued to fall on the combatants as the endless waltz continued. Neither fighter was going to lose this battle without dieing it seemed. The fight was drawing to a close as lightning cracked down, revealing the awe-inspiring battle laid out before the crowd.
