Goku could feel it. What was blocked before was now proudly on display. The dark, insidious wall that he felt earlier had been razed, and the diabolical entity inside, using the powerful Broli as a host, had revealed itself. The possessive evil eyed Goku with his eerie, unholy eyes with an arrogant, sadistic smile. Boasting his self perpetuated divinity over the icy windswept battlefield had presented the Black Demon an ample gift of overpassionate security. His inflated pride was basting in himself, in his own assured dominance over any and all that were stupid enough to strip him of that dominance. What better opportunity to prove to himself, and the entire forsaken universe, of that birthright?
The boundless energy that radiated from Broli's being seemed to reach out and scorch the cold air around him. It was an energy that was not only of his own. The Black Demon had fused it's own power with the Saiya-jin almost, in a terrifying amalgamation of strength. Goku could see the time for talk was over. The creature that had diluted Broli's true self had complete hold over him and would work the unimaginably evil and inhuman thoughts and acts that he would so predictably commit if provided with the chance. The spiky, golden hair that stood as a testament to the Black Demon's ascension to Super Saiya-jin immediately came to Goku's foremost thoughts. With the undesirable situation of the monotone energy pulses from the Dante collars, the single minded Saiya-jin had little way of assuming Broli's true power, but by no means would he place his own strength above a preconceived estimate of his enemy's. Finished with his thoughts, Goku tore into the air, catapulting in an arch.
A blast of artic winds expelled outwards from Goku's blazing navy aura, matching the chilly conditions that both warriors felt regardless if they would admit to them. Simultaneously to the aura's birth, a light downpour of sleet cascaded from the sky, lighting up Goku's position for the Black Demon to keep track of. Clawing the fingers of his right hand, the black haired Saiya-jin coaxed the creation of a spherical energy ball and proceeded to hurl it at the stationary Broli. Burrowing a path of light through the falling precipitation, the ki ball spun towards his target. The golden aura that pulsed around Broli's behemoth form parted a snowless void around him; he quickly and so effortlessly ascended high into the air until he matched Goku's altitude. Its very life fading as fast as the light that it produced, the energy ball crashed into the snow blanketed ground, springing the cold coating into a translucent cloud.
Broli was on the move.
The two Saiya-jins rocketed through the increasingly snowing battlefield, their inhibitions and mocking calm facades discarded to unleash their pure warrior personas. If not for the ki wave quelching collars, surely the entire planet of Dante would have felt the dramatic approach for this battle of the titans. Soaring towards his opponent, Goku found the blank, ghostly eyes of Broli to be uncomfortably drawing. The void and the white, the lack of pupils, the way they stared through metal, it was impossible to look away. Throwing out his arms, Goku breathed life into two energy balls, one in each hand, and threw them one after the other. The first orb curved to the left of Broli, spinning in a semi circle towards its intended target. Well aware of the attack, the Black Demon swatted it down at the ground with the back of his hand. The energy ball detonated in much the same fashion as Goku's first terrestrial attack. Hoping that the second globe of ki would not fail, Goku increased his speed while the Black Demon focused upon it. The second ball flew cockily at Broli, finding its path to him straight. Showing his sneering contempt for the Saiya-jin, the Black Demon dropped his arms to his sides and attempted no counter attack or block to the remaining energy ball. It slammed hard into his chest, but did little to affect Broli at all. The only remnant that showed the ball may have ever existed was a rapidly fading whisp of smoke.
Suddenly, the muscular form of Broli shimmered out of the falling flakes of snow and reappeared directly in front of Goku. With widened eyes, the black haired Saiya-jin struggled against the iron clad grip of Broli, who had grasped both his wrists. The self assured grin returned to the Black Demon's face, his moment of supremacy on him once again. Goku attempted a knee to Broli's stomach, but found that the Super Saiya-jin had anticipated the move and had blocked it with his own kneecap. Utilising his swift Super Saiya-jin speed, Broli used his free knee and triumphed in the same attack that Goku had failed. The forceful melee hit sent Goku's nervous system into a tailspin. Pain shot throughout his stomach and chest and dissipated slightly as it richocheted through his limbs. The Black Demon chuckled at his attack, at its simplicity and yet its power.
"I hope that this isn't all you have inside you," the possessed Broli boomed with arrogant contempt.
"Don't underestimate me so," Goku snapped back.
He once again tried to rip his constrained arms from Broli's steadfast grip, but once again it was to no avail. The black haired Saiya-jin tilted his head upwards, taking his chin out of his chest. For the first time, Goku saw Broli's white eyes up close. They were so dead, and yet at the same time, full of life. Staring into the empty chasms, Goku could sense on an even larger scale what this Black Demon was truly about.
"You act as if you were a god," Goku snidely remarked.
Broli's grin widened. "In respect to you, at the very least."
"You are not a god," came the determined response, "but I have trained with them!"
The Black Demon sharpened his eyes slightly at Goku's last statement, but finding little time to analyse it's meaning.
"Kaioken x 15!" Goku roared. In a cacophony of dazzling light, Goku's navy blue aura flared crimson, spilling its radiating hue onto Broli's chest. Unaware of the fifteen fold increase of power on the black haired Saiya-jin, the Black Demon could not hold Goku any longer. The Kaioken energies gave Goku enough strength to slip free and bring his right fist across Broli's face.
But not before yelling another phrase into the sky.
"Sun Fist!" the shimmering red Saiya-jin called out. His knuckles immediately glazed with a searing white light, which Goku proceeded to crash across Broli's temples. The punch released the stored light energy and overwhelmed the Black Demon's ocular senses. The crunch of the attack forced the breath from Broli, expelling it out of his surprised face. Goku captilised on the momentary shock and pivoted by his waist upside down, slamming the backs of his heels into the Black Demon's jaw. A line of spittle and blood curved over Broli's head, his eyes now staring blankly upwards. The momentum of the double kick had brought Goku above Broli, and the speed of his bolstered powers allowed him to finish the brief attack. Grabbing the Super Saiya-jin hulk by the jaw, Goku heaved Broli over his shoulders and slammed him onto his rigid knee. Broli's spine cracked as his body bent awkwardly over the leg joint. Goku withdrew his knee and clasped both hands together, pummeling them into Broli's stomach. The sheer inertia of the double fisted smash sent the Black Demon to the frozen tundra below.
Just before impact, Broli threw out his limbs and stopped. Waves of snow flowed up and then back down from the force of the halt. A renewed vigor for battle glossed through the Demon's eyes as he righted himself and planted his feet into the soft snow.
"You might be a challenge yet..."
