Actually, the most powerful production car in the world is the Bugatti Veyron. It is available for purchase at a disgusting 1 million dollars US, and comes stock with 1000 horsepower, and a similar (but slightly lower) torque rating, which I'm not about to look up.

Bugatti is the first company to release a 4-digit horsepower production automobile.

EDIT: The Koenigsegg -could- still be the faster car. I don't know the numbers for the Veyron, but I do know it's very, very heavy.
