BACKYARD BRAWL!
A great fall evening as the crowd of eighteen showed up to watch the events unfold. Again, mostly college and high school kids, but it's getting more diverse. We had to get more lawn chairs, and still don't have enough for everyone.
First out was Vanessa, to churray of cheers. Kory Williams followed her, posing for the fans.
Vanessa: Well howdy y'all!
Cheers from the audience. I'm still wondering why she got booed on the first show
Vanessa: Tonight is such a big night, y'all! You get to see kick the booty off of that rude mexican girl! And later tonight, my boy here Kory Williams is gonna win us some world championship! Are you listening in there, Stevie? I know you're worried about Kory here, but don't worry, we'll make it quick and painless!
Kory Williams: Yo, let's get on with it, baby.
Vanessa: Allllright! Come on out, Christina, let's show these people what they want!
67% rating. I love me some Vanessa.
Vanessa vs Christina
As expected, a bad match. A 34% crowd reaction is okay, but the quality was only 36%. I guess I can deal, neither of them are actual wrestlers. It was a back and forth slapfest on the mat. My tree continues to take a beating, this time with Vanessa hitting it head first. A lame 33% match ends with Vanessa hitting a DDT and winning it. Afterwards, Christina is livid and cusses everyone out in spanish.
Masked Power vs Tidal Wave
Masked Power came out to help Christina, and then began his match immediately after. A decent 60% saw Tidal Wave obviously trying to prove to me he deserves to stay on the roster. The crowd was into it too, a 30% is decent enough. Still, I think I'll be trashing Tidal Wave as he just isn't into the gimmick. Masked Power kept using his strength, and finally the huge mexican wrestler nailed a chokeslam and scored the three for a 45% match. Afterwards, Hardcore Ninja came out and seeked his revenge for last month. He smacked Masked Power over the head with a baseball bat, sprawling him to the side of the backyard. Christina tried to stop the Ninja, but got a facefull of fist.
Hardcore Ninja's oppenent, King Trash, stepped out of the house and into the backyard. He ignored the fallen bodies of Christina and Masked Power.
King Trash: I can see you're having some fun in my arena. You see, my ninja'd friend, this is my dome...the backyard. The outdoors. I don't need shelter. I can survive through anything.
The ninja looked at him confused, but the crowd was eating it up
King Trash: I hope you have plenty of those weapons handy, Ninja. You'll need them to survive through me. This is my domain, and nobody fucks with the Trash Man.
A lovely 59%, not the best but it sure got the point across.
Hardcore Ninja vs King Trash
King Trash amazed me with his performance, a 70% match with a 32% crowd reaction. Weapons weren't a big high in this match, but it was made up for with some good old fashioned beat downs. Ninja took Trash over to the fans for some beating, whilst Trash did some hot tub bumps onto Ninja. Trash set up around the end for a Trash Drop, but Masked Power was up from his beat down! Wanting to get to Ninja, he dropped King Trash with a Power DDT! The Ninja squirmed away, hit a dropkick on Power, and went up top. One Man Pearl Harbor off the hot tub, and Ninja won! After the match, King Trash got his revenge on Masked Power by nailing a Trash Drop in anger.
When everyone was cleared away, the crowd was treated to a promo from the crazy side of the split personality man, Silly Stevie!
Silly Stevie: I'm not gonna come and bore you, fans. My job, as an entertainer and a wrestler is to keep you happy! Now as you know, I have a serious medical condition that sometimes makes me not want to do that. But I have controlled myself just for this night. For this match. Kory Williams, I'm in the mood to hurt someone so come on out, you're first in line!
A 62% means Stevie deserves all the popularity he gets.
Kory Williams vs Silly Stevie?, Hardcore Match for the GZW Championship
The crowd was all over Stevie for a 39% even though both fighters are face. A decent 68% match quality started off with Williams taking the quick advantage. After some technical moves on the mat, things moved onto the grass. Stevie whipped Kory into the tree and dropkicked him back into it. Vanessa tried her best to cheer Williams on. The crazy Stevie continued the onslaught by slamming Kory into the fence.
Stevie took a moment to taunt with the fans, and it cost him. Kory speared Stevie back onto the mat and only got a two. Stevie got up to see a dropkick off the hot tub. After a couple minutes of brawling, Stevie slipped out of a poorly done suplex and hit a DDT! The crowd was loving it as Stevie set up for the finish. Williams took a bit longer then planned, but when he got up he sold the Stevie Kick and the win. A solid 53% match.
There was no rest for the victorious, as out of no where, Jagged flew out from the house! He smacked the now-trademark weapon of GZW, the baseball bat, onto Stevie's head, sending him down. Kory sold the baseball shot even worse, since the bat barely touched him. Stevie made up for it by taking another one.
Jeff Flame came out, laughing. He got some boo's.
Jeff Flame: Whoa, whoa, whoa, settle down there, tiger! I know you want to knock sexy competition like me out, but let's improvise. We got you and me, the obvious better wrestlers of GZW. We got Stevie, the psycho, and Kory the wanna-be. So, I propose, next month right here on Ground Zero Wrestler, we make a match for that title Stevie has cheated from us. A four way elimination match!
Laughing Larry and Mark Tegland were milking it out for all it was worth to the fans, who all made it known they were excited for it. Jeff Flame's challenge was a 53%, hurt by the fact it included the lesser known Jagged. Oh well, Jagged will be known enough soon.
The card scored a 53%, which isn't perfect as we went down one point, but I'm still proud of it. We're solid, not falling anytime soon. I'm excited. Are you excited? Yea...didn't think so.
