I never really found either of the two that scary really, but I guess I could see where you are coming from.

Myself, I thought that the metroids were really not that scary, unless you count those hunter metroids. Those did freak the shit outta me.

Flood, yeah... those are a little creepy. Especially on that last level where you're fighting in the dark, and then one pops out and you're like "OMFG AAAAAAH!" and just start shooting randomly.

So yeah, I really don't know why macaroni or honeycomb cereal scares you (I love macaroni and honeycomb. They're good Smile ). But, you are sorta right about the flood being scary, and metroids sometimes.
