Unless I misunderstood what you said...former is first, latter is second. Jim Carrey's quote is first, so it would be the former. Troy's is second, hence the latter.
Anyways...
The way I see it, every animal has some means of defense. We just keep advancing ours. War isn't an invention of mankind, it's nature. The parameters change and evolve, as all things eventually do, but not the thing itself. Some can suppress it, others can't, because the degree of this nature varies from person to person. We have a few prime examples of this right here at our very own Chubbs.
I don't see anything wrong with taking pride in something. Those are some pretty sweet looking guns, Goten.
