Things always had a way of going by faster than you were prepared for them. To Bardock, their group's plot seemed to be anything but likely, but they had withdrawn before ever fully giving it a chance. They had been completely preempted by the unexpected arrival of a new cast of faces, who quite literally dropped in on them. The large reptilian could be none other than Burter, the father of the little one. A tall, wizened namekian helped Katel to her feet, whom she referred to as Kami. The other had the stench of human upon him. Bardock didn't catch his name.
Bebi was busy staring at a tinted window. Someone was watching.
"I'm going up there," Bebi hissed darkly. "I know it's him."
"I'm going too," the saiyan barked instantly.
"We'll split up," Katel said. "I've fulfilled my end of the bargain, now I want some help getting my sister back."
There was nothing but sheer determination lacing her words.
"I'll help," Kami replied. "I owe Akira."
His face split wide with a smile.
The human, Hellfighter 17, and the namekian Kami bid their farewells before clustering up. Katel left Bardock's side, her lack of close presence taking away a warmth that had slowly fostered. She had upheld her agreement to help him get to Kao, but he was not helping her in turn. But he was already committed to something else. In a way, dismantling the leadership would cut off their control of Akira, if he thought optimistically. His eyes were only for her as she left, and he swallowed hard, not knowing if he was ever going to see her again. It was better this way. Turning back to his own group, Bardock turned towards Bebi, intent on taking his mind off of recent happenings.
Burter took a moment to look up from his son, glancing at his newfound allies. His eyes stopped when they came upon the face of the saiyan. It couldn't have been him, but the resemblance was unmistakable.
"You...you must know Goku," he began, addressing the bronze warrior.
"If by Goku, you mean Kakarotto, then yeah," Bardock grunted in response, not approving of his offspring's adopted name. "He's my youngest boy."
"I think it's only fair to tell you then, that he's been eliminated already," Burter stated. The other whirled on him.
"What?!" he shouted, not caring how loud his voice was.
Burter, being a father himself, could sympathize with the loss. Even if Goku hadn't really been killed, this game was all too close to the actual thing. Goku had still felt the torturous pain of death without actually having been submitted to it. "Brim eliminated him," he repeated. "He told me so himself."
A deep rage began to rise from beneath the surface. Bardock clenched his powerful hands into fists. His chiseled jaw was ground firmly together. He hadn't any quarrel with Brim before this. The saiyan's body was so tense with anger that it was actually shaking. His fingers were curling so tightly that the nails broke the skin. It was all he could do to keep himself from bringing the building itself down around his ears. Without consciously willing them to do so, tendrils of pure white energy began to steam from his figure, emanating with deadly intent. His inner ki was slowly starting to rise, bringing the power he held so deep inside to bear. Tufts of black locks lifted from atop his head, swaying gently in the wake of his seeping energy.
"Then I'll just have to do him the favor in turn," Bardock growled so lowly that the words were almost lost upon the ears that heard them. "Only I won't be so nice."
Before, Bar wanted to kill Kao simply for his dishonorable actions against the saiyan. Now, it would leave Brim bereft of son and able to feel exactly what Bardock felt now. And then he would wreak havoc on the TV producer himself.
"Do you hear me?" he asked suddenly. The saiyan's chin rose. "DO YOU HEAR ME, BRIM?! IF YOU WANT A GOOD SHOW, THEN I'LL FUCKING GIVE YOU ONE!"
"Shut up!" a voice rebuked from amidst the din. It was Bebi. "Less talk, more action!" he prompted.
Bebi wasn't going to wait for Bardock to finish his tantrum to get his own hands on Brim. The saiyan instantly calmed down, though only on the outside. His rage was not so easily quelled. It still exuded from inside.
"Let's go."
OOC: Well, shit. I don't have the ability to change it with a minute left on this library computer. The post will have to just be filled in between gaps in Bebi's.
