END OF ROUND
Quote:?You can?t fight your destiny!? Seventeen?s evil complement screamed. The titanic ki blast started to be pushed back at the android. With a final, defiant scream, the cybernetic warrior threw all the fight that he had left into the blast?in one last attempt to eliminate the personified nightmare.
The blast was by far the strongest that Seventeen has ever forced from his small bony fingers, his teeth clenching hard enough to chip a tooth. He could hear a muffled scream from the other side of the horrendously strong eruption, but the thunderous clap of energy drowned out all sounds. The voice was inaudiable.
It felt like the struggle of the evil apparition was coming to an end. Seventeen could step forward, forcing the ki wave farther against his oppenent, at a faster and easier rate. Finally, the struggle all together had stopped, and the blast halted.
It took a moment or two for the smoke to emerge and then clear again. Seventeen was an emotional and physical wreck, but still, he was ready.
A figure emerged from the shadows of the smoke. It was an old, familar grey-haired man, the one who guarded the watchtower. He wore a stern, serious look.
"Tell, my mechanical brother," the old man said, "What do you fear?"
The android had to think about this. He limbs relaxed, his body moving out of the fighting stance. Fear? He had lived it. This was easy, when thought about.
"I fear the darkness that rests inside me."
The watchman nodded. "You pass the test."
-----
Seventeen woke up. Everybody in the room was asleep. He was the first to survive.
