END OF ROUND
Quote:Trunks opened his mouth to speak, and then slowly closed it, unable to bring himself to words. Somehow, another tear managed to form upon his face. Reijin continued, another tear falling upon her face. ?Every action had a purpose? And yet? And yet with absolutely no reason at all, Videl had been ripped from my arms, ripped from my life.? He felt something distant within him, a growing strength, something that felt of a former life. ?I will never see the look of our children.? He felt a cold fury, an anguish of helplessness. He was Reijin. He was one of the greatest among Saiyans. ?I will never have any of that?? He was? helpless. He was normal. He was only human.
?I can?t believe she?s gone??
"Trunks," Rei said after awhile. His head was rested against the side of the busted vehicle. "Thank you for being here."
"You're welcome." Rei spun around, frightened, when he heard a voice that didn't belong to Trunks. In Trunks' place was the Watchman, gentle as can be, just obsering the human version of the deadly saiyan. "Sorry to scare you."
"Why are you here?!" He demanded, standing up. "I've lost her! I've lost everything! Are you here to gloat?"
"Reijin..." The watchman spoke with softness, a hand out. "I am merely here to help."
"How can you do anything? It's all over now...I'm just another helpless human."
"Is that what you fear?"
Reijin paused, looking up from his spot on his scraped knees. "No..."
"No?"
"I fear losing my love."
The Watchman smiled. Reijin would have stayed human, he decided, had he been given the chance to keep his love close. Fortunetly, such drastic measures weren't nessecary.
"You have learned. You have passed the test."
