[10] Raditzu and 18 - Town/Market
#2
There was a town, although uninhabited, a town nonetheless. That was right; one of the original groups had visited the deserted area. What had they found? Could they have discovered as much as she and her group had? What was it exactly that they were looking for now? Her thoughts dwelled on the matter, of what the angel had said. Demons, and Satan, somewhere they were here. Could they be in the town? She kind of hoped so; it would feel good to kick the shit out of something. While she flew behind Raditzu, she flexed her digits, and gritted her teeth. A fight would be good, but what if they found nothing? What a bummer that would be. There had to be demons somewhere, right? If Gabriel had said so, then it was the truth, hopefully.

They landed, boots crunched against the grit and dead grass. An ominous wind whistled against broken shutters and kicked up small dust clouds. ?What a place.? The android muttered, taking in the ghost town. It was void of life, from what they could see. Dead bodies were strewn upon worn window sills, and in the street. Death had consumed this place, its stench violated their nostrils, Eighteen wrinkled her nose in disgust. Would these people rise from the dead and wreak havoc on them as the others had? That could be fun, couldn?t it? She gave a timid look to her partner; he would probably revel in any upcoming gruesome battle. ?Well let?s see what this place has to offer, I?m hoping we find ourselves some demons.? One foot after the other, she trekked down the dusty path that led to the town. She side stepped a corpse here and there, somewhat hoping for them to groan and twitch in an effort to attack her. Alas, it was not so, these bipeds were as dead as a doorknob.

?I wonder what kind of people these were,? she started; their walk was slow paced, cautious. ?I mean, were they peaceful? Were they happy? It?s kind of interesting that there is a civilization here, I?ve never even heard of this place.? She brought up her hands and rested them behind her head in a casual manner, her cool eyes shifted left and right for any movement.

?Well, Mercy-Sei is an asteroid, and there are many people there.? Raditzu put in, and he was right. ?The planets we know are not the only ones out there, so it?s not strange that this asteroid had a civilization, we just didn?t know about it.? She turned to look at him; she tried to read his face. His features turned from serious to light hearted, and she smiled in return. ?Don?t get so deep, babe, no use dwelling on a dead asteroid. Yeah, sure, it used to be full of life, now it?s just a hunk of rock.? He waved a hand as if to dismiss their discussion, but the android still wondered.

?Well I hope they were happy, even if it has no use to me.? She lowered her hands and sighed some. ?Where are the demons!? Even some zombies would be nice.? They turned a corner in the street. She took note of the damaged buildings, and the rubble that had fallen upon the ground. ?You think the other group did that?? She pointed, but the Saiya-Jin only shrugged. ?Maybe there?s something big and nasty here, wouldn?t that be fun?? She chuckled and continued watching their surroundings while they walked. ?You know, if we?re looking for demons, don?t you think they?d be near some caves or something?? She looked toward Raditzu. ?They would come from below, wouldn?t they?? Of course, she was thinking typical demons, coming form the bowels of the planet.

?Not really,? She cocked a brow at his response, ?Well, sometimes they have this way of coming out of random portals.? The blonde blinked, that was a little unfair. ?Maybe some of them can teleport; sometimes they come out of no where.? She looked away, if only a demon or two would teleport here.

?I remember there had been demons when the power went out at the Production Building.? She tapped her chin idly. ?We didn?t fight them; maybe they came from around there.? If that was so, this trip was meaningless. ?Well, wherever they are, I just hope I get to kill a few before they?re all dead, it would be much more fun than those gross zombies.? It was his turn to chuckle; Eighteen swatted playfully at him and took a few quick steps so that she was ahead.

The sound of a pebble dropping resonated within her cranium. The android turned sharply toward the other side of the street. All that could be seen was a broken sign that was held limply attached to some forgotten store. The windows were broken and the cement walls cracking form top to bottom. She could see nothing; did demons have an invisible ability too? That would be amusing. She let her guard down and let out a disgusted sound. ?Tch, they know we?re stronger than them, so they?re hiding.? She nodded, not completely sure if that was the truth, but she felt like saying something arrogant.

The air was still, and stale, while the darkness crept in around them. Night had fallen a while ago, but she was just now taking note of it. The night sky was clouded, but pockets of space were opened here and there to let the stars shine through. She could see no moon, but perhaps that was due to the angle. She shrugged to herself and looked away from the sky. She poked into the alleyways, and the shadows. All that could be found were more dead bodies, and that putrid stench. Out of frustration she suddenly nailed her fist into the side of the building they were near. An indentation formed from the impact, and for a moment she just stood there. Bits of concrete fell and bounced against the ground, her fingers moved from their position, and she gave Raditzu a grin. ?I?m bored.?

A rumbling came and chips and dust began to rain downward. Eighteen felt herself being propelled away from where she had been standing. A loud crashing sound flooded around them, a swash of air fluttered against her body. She hit the ground and skidded, stopping against a trash can and muttering in shock. ?God damn,? Raditzu got up and dusted himself off. ?Did you have to do that?? She blinked and her gaze shifted toward the building they had been standing by. A large chunk of it had been knocked loose, she hadn?t seen it coming. Raditzu had pushed her out of the way; otherwise she would have been hurt. She blushed in embarrassment. He held out a hand and she took it, at least it was some excitement.
