"Aaaand ... done!"

Greg gave a short, self-satisfied chuckle as he posted his roleplay, the product of a few hour's meticulous writing and re-reading. He spent a few minutes looking over it before resigning to a glass of Jack Daniel's and coke, leaning back in his chair. A window suddenly popped up on the screen of his laptop.

'Kyokyomon' has sent you a message. Accept?

Wondering who it could be, curiosity overtook him, as he clicked the 'Yes'. Strangely, no window popped up to display the message. Greg waited, but nothing happened. Raising an eyebrow, he clicked back to the site he had been browsing. Nothing happened - the laptop had frozen.

"What the hell?" he muttered angrily, getting to his feet. As he turned around, he nearly jumped out of his skin. The room had gone. Everything was spinning, melting away, and he felt the floor leave his feet. Around him he could see some kind of code, trickling down, appearing, disappearing, passing through him. Before he could scream, he passed out.

"Come on, human! Ugh, this is such a drag ..."

Greg awoke, finding himself on soft sand. He sat up immediately, brushing the stuff off his skin - he hated sand, it was so hard to get off. Suddenly events rushed back to him, and he jumped to his feet.

"Where the - huh?"

A bizarre looking, green-eyed snake-thing was floating in the air before him. It's gruff, low voice belied its tiny form.

"Finally," said the creature, its voice laced with sarcasm. "Welcome to the digital world."
