Only a few hours had passed before DemiDevimon was awoken by the sounds of clawed feet scurrying around the shack that Xander and he were sleeping in. Shaking the cobwebs from his head accumulated during his relatively comfortable period of sleep, the bat slowly walked across the earth floor of the archaic structure. Eventually, he found walking too awkward and opted to hover a few inches above the ground instead. The bat Digimon glanced up at the shack?s windows, but at his height, the angle prevented him from seeing anything but the night sky. DemiDevimon was soon lost in the sea of stars, but the sound a squeaking hinges snapped the bat from his star-induced daze. Spinning around, the small bat let out a high-pitched shriek at the sight of the creature before him. A moment later, a bag engulfed his entire body, but not before he had alerted Xander of his dilemma. The human youth stood up the moment the distressed shouts of his partner filled the room.
?DemiDevimon, what ha-? Xander rubbed his eyes as he talked, but the moment he got a clear look at the creature standing near the shack entrance, he lost his current train of thought and started to babble incoherently. Even thought it was night, the human could clearly see the beast due to the light given off from the torches that the Agumon villagers held. In the flickering, dancing light of the multiple torches, Xander saw a dinosaur easily towering over the combined height of the villagers. His skin was black, with a small, white plastron, and the occasional jagged, primeval strip of blood red. Instead of three claws like the Agumon, this ebony dinosaur had two, lethal blades. Over the bones of his metacarpus, grayed fabric had been wrapped around several times for no apparent reason. Green scutes penetrated from the titan?s spine every so often, and his teeth were so massive they could not be contained within his mouth. Thus, like what could signify a crocodilian lineage, several of his fangs were outside his upper jaw. The tyrannosaurus rex?s blue eyes were filled to the brim with hatred.
?Apprehend him as well!? The monster roared, ordering the Agumon to attack Xander. The human tried to fight back against the little beasts, but he only managed to get tangled in his sheets and fall, face first to the ground. Temporarily overcome, Xander was soon tied up in the same blankets he had been sleeping in. The six Agumon grabbed him by the legs and arms and started dragging him over the ground as they followed the obsidian giant. The black beast, with a bagged DemiDevimon in tow, led the procession into a nearby shack. Xander, who was struggling desperately to escape the agony being bestowed upon his face, managed to turn his neck enough that he saw the interior of the shack. The small building was nothing but a fa?ade to conceal a long, stone stairway. Groaning loudly, Xander tried desperately to keep his face from being bashed against each and everyone of the steps, yet he failed miserably. By the time the Agumon pallbearers got the bottom of the stairs, Xander was suffering from a bloody nose and possibly a dislocated tooth or two.
?Throw the human into the cell,? the ebony monstrosity commanded, ?and deal with this cretin as you see fit,? the last thing Xander could make out before he was thrown into a pit, an action that left him unconscious, was the giant reptile releasing the bag which contained DemiDevimon.
DemiDevimon felt the oppressive grip release his leather prison and escaped accordingly. When he emerged from the bag, he saw the same group of Agumon from before standing around the rim of a hole, taunting and laughing at whatever was beneath them. Their mockery of their prisoner lasted for only a few more moments before they turned to face the bat Digimon. Each of the maniacal reptiles wore a crazed grin as they menacingly started towards DemiDevimon.
