I would suggest just being yourself. Don't buy any gifts or presents ('cept maybe like Piccolo said, a funny/lighthearted card), because those will not make the girl like you. She might thank you for the gifts, but if you want an actual relationship with her, she has to like you. The problem about making girls like you is that the more you try, the more they see that you're trying and the less they care. This is where the 'nice guys never get girls' thing comes in.

I'm not trying to be a bastard, but ultimately you have to be prepared to let her go. If she sees that you're independent and confident, then she'll like you. If she sees that you've got all your hopes set on this relationship, then she's going to feel pressured and awkward. You get what you don't really care about and the things you really do care about don't care about you. It's ironic, but that's life. =/
