A brisk awakening brought Goten back from the dazed half-concuious sleep he had been able to lull himself into the few hours before... the Saiyan had remained in his placement for far too long and now began to counter plan what he had initially thought prior.
"Alright," Said his inner monolog as he whipped out the small paper map from his knapsack, igniting a quick discussion with himself. "Then again, I'll be damned if I'm with my back to water."
Turning his head briefly to the side in child-like interest, he nodded, then pocketed the map. Something cold brushed against his hand upon entering which seemed to clink with a tap against his other device.
"Huh... least it doesn't run on steam." Reluctantly, he placed the old fashioned scouter upon the side of his head and made a few minor alterations.
The thick forest ahead of him was brustling with activity of local wildlife, though he could neither see nor feel the presense of any other living organism aside that from himself. Completely dense of impulses about him... wonderful.
What his scouter could track was an aray of multiple closer signals, yet no definition of distance nor strength could be determined. The small device had been about as useful as a paper weight. Nonetheless, the halfling took care in keeping his steps and visability to a rare minimum to avoid the potential arrival of any hostile residence.
