?Arg?how long has it been already?? The king asked, pushing himself off of the large stone. Reijin looked up towards the sky and noticed the new position of the sun.
?Only a few hours.? He appeared to be slightly disappointed with the current events, as was Vegeta. The king gazed upward and took note of the placement as well.
?I forgot how boring staking out was. Bah.? He spat on the ground and began walking towards a heavily wooded area.
?Where you going?? The shorter haired Saiya-jin cocked a brow, as did his little green friend.
?I?m going for a walk.? Vegeta replied without halting or turning in gesture. The Saibaman grunted and waved his hand in the air wildly as he was saying good bye.
?Alright, well don?t get your head blown off!? Reijin chuckled just before Vegeta vanished into the small forest.
Vegeta huffed, remembering the collar that encaged him tightly. If it wasn?t for this damn mechanism this tournament would be over by now. So many rules, Vegeta hated rules; he?d rather just go in, take care of business and come out with a smile. ?Hm?? He stopped as he heard something rustle in the bushes nearby. Thoughts of questioning the noise approached his mind, but he didn?t want to give away his position for any nearby threats. There was a tree close by with large branches, easy concealment for the king as well as full featured vision over the area. Vegeta jumped onto the branches, bouncing back and forth like a ninja until he reached a reliable spot. His eyes gazed down, searching for the location he was just in, and noticed the bushes moving once again.
He sat and watched, yet nothing seemed to come out of the greenery. ?Come on?? Vegeta muttered under his breath. The wind began to blow against his back, almost causing him to lose his balance but he gripped tightly onto the aged bark and stabilized himself. A low growling noise then bellowed from below, and a small boar came pouncing out of the bushes, face covered with a red liquid. ?Huh? Is that?blood?? Vegeta was too high up to tell just exactly what kind of material it was. He knew if he wanted to find out, he?d have to take a closer look.
He stood up on the branch fully erect and took a deep breath. This?ll be a long fall without the use of flight, so he prepared himself for whatever impact he may be dealt. Just as he thought though, a picture came into view. From his current location in the tree he was able to see farther down into the horizon. A large mountain top was peaking up as if it was tempting the Saiya-jin, perhaps pinpointing the location of something great. His vision became a stare, almost a hypnotic illusion as the mountain almost appeared to be calling the Saiya-jin king.
Just before losing it completely, the boar made another snort and recalled Vegeta?s attention. His eyes snapped downward, and he noticed the large pig trotting away. ?Oh no you don?t.? Vegeta jumped off the branch and fell hard onto the grassy ground, with the help of gravity of course. A subtle quake rocked the area upon impact and startled the young beast. It took notice of the king and began to dart away, unfortunately for the plump beast, his speed was no where in comparison to a Saiya-jin?s. Vegeta appeared in front of the boar and pounced on it.
?Come here you living bacon sample!? He wrapped his arm around the boar?s throat and pinned it into the dirt. It squealed horribly and struggled to break free, almost the same way Vegeta had earlier with the saibaman. The moisture on the beast?s mouth was still wet, still fresh from a few moments prior and Vegeta planned on finding out what it was. He slid his finger along the boar?s lips and brought the extraction up to his nose, sniffing it with curiosity. With a few more sniffs, he noticed the scent of familiarity. ?Are these?berries?? Vegeta knew he had to taste it for sure, even if it just came off the slobbery mouth of a pig. He reluctantly slid the sample across his tongue, allowing his taste buds to do the work for him and analyze the situation. ?Heh?so they are.? Vegeta stood up and allowed the boar free, gazing over towards the bushes where he had first encountered the noise.
?Fresh start, always good to get ahead in the game.? He walked over to the fruitful brushes and took notice of the small red balls that hung off the vines. There were plenty of berries for both him and Reijin, something that would come in handy after the bread had run out. Supplies were always a must in a survival mission, and getting a head start was always a good plan. He began picking the circular food off the bushes and dropping them into his bag, making sure not to squish them and lose their value. As he finished up, feeling satisfied with his harvest, he stood up and spun around to meet with the same boar eye to eye.
?Huh? What do you want?? Vegeta questioned the beast. He got a few snorts and growls in return; obviously the pig was angered by the king stealing away his food. ?I?m sorry; I didn?t see your name on this bush.? Vegeta began walking back towards the direction where Reijin was waiting at, when the beast continued to pursue the Saiya-jin with a huddle of noises and groans. ?Eh? Damnit, just shut up already!? Vegeta spun around and threw a round house kick into the boars head, knocking it out instantly as it rolled around a few times like a pizza pie. A smirk appeared on Vegeta?s face, and he continued his trek up the hill.
?Back so soon?? Reijin questioned as he saw Vegeta return within minutes.
?Yeh, I had a little run in, nothing serious though. I also found some food for later.? He opened his bag and handed over half the findings to the Saiya-jin ally.
?Berries? What, you couldn?t bring back some meat or something?? Vegeta thought about it for a minute.
?Meat?? he remembered the boar, ??damnit!? he cursed aloud as feeding off the pig?s meat would?ve been more fulfilling then eating these damned berries. A small drip of sweat appeared on his forehead. ?Damned beast??
