Seventeen sharply turned and was confronted by the sight of absolutely nothing. The android let out a heavy sigh, angered and annoyed for being so antsy. Just as the android was about to turn around, he felt the cold steel of a gun barrel pressed into the back of his neck.
?Any sudden moves and you win a free tracheotomy,? the voice was heartless, feminine, and vaguely familiar. The cyborg relaxed just a little bit and spoke slowly and softly.
?Violet?? He asked, his voice betraying the fear that was swelling within him, but when the chilly metal moved away from the back of his throat, the android let out a sigh of relief. A moment later, Violet walked around to face him?she had shed whatever garb she had been previous decked out in. Now she was clothed in a rather impressive, yet slightly reveling suit of armor. Seventeen smiled faintly as the two enjoyed one of those awkward silences, but he quickly whipped the stupid smirk of his face to prevent the wrong message from being conveyed. ?I?m glad I managed to find someone who won?t attack me with a deck of cards,? the android said, trying to lighten the mood with his usually idiotic, sarcastic demeanor. The gambit seemed to work slightly, as one of the corner of Violet?s mouth curled slightly upward, but it seemed quickly that she may very well be one of those ?all work and no play? gal. Seventeen wasn?t going to jump to conclusions, because he was just glad he had someone to talk to?even if it was only an acquaintance.
?How has the game been treating you?? The woman asked, placing a hand on one of her curvaceous hips as she glanced over the pistol she held in her hand. The cybernetic warrior flashed his lacerated forearm at Violet but couldn?t tell whether or not she could see the rather diminutive lesion in such limited light.
?I had a namekian ambush me a few minutes after that announcer guy started the game,? Seventeen said, smiling pleasantly as he twirled around his sealed sack of rations and other supplies. ?I managed to scare him off with this baby, though,? on that word, the android lifted up the rocket launcher so that his purple-haired ally could see it in all of its sleek, shiny beauty. Violet glanced over the rather large weapon a few times before she turned her attention to the regions around the structure. The woman seemed to be on the edge as she cast a few hawk-like glimpses at all the open areas in the immediate vicinity.
?I?ve been camped at this mausoleum for the majority of the contest so far, and when I thought I heard something moving outside I investigated. Lo and behold, I found you sneaking around near the tree line. So I take it you haven?t really been in contact with anyone else?? Seventeen shook his head, a disappointed frown spreading across his features as he laid the rocket launcher on the ground.
"Seventeen! Violet!" The android turned around the moment he heard the new voice ring out. Instantly, his smile broadened as he registered the presence of Kid Buu?the younger, and previously feral version of Super Buu. It was strange?the last time that the android had fought alongside Kid Buu he had been a raving, animalistic monster; however, now he seemed to have done quite a bit of evolving. Back at the park, the childlike Majin warrior completely took the machine-hybrid aback by his new mannerisms and altered, seemingly humanized demeanor. If Seventeen ever had the time, he knew he had to ask Kid Buu what had been so drastic as to change him so much. Before the android could utter a simple ?howdy,? the color from the tiny, magical construct seemed to fade as if something of a catastrophic nature was dawning upon him. That?s when the cyborg noticed it though?a tiny rivulet of blood was seeping out from an even smaller cut inflicted upon the kid?s visage by a sharp tree branch. Kid Buu?s eyes widened as he stared at the splotch of blood that he had wiped off with his thumb.
At first, the machine-hybrid was wondering why the bubblegum-colored kid was seemingly overreacting to such a minute cut, but then Seventeen remembered a very important fact that was undoubtedly the basis of Kid Buu?s adverse reaction: beings like Super Buu and Kid Buu never usually bled. The cyborg had fought to a standstill with the taller counterpart of the pink duo, and not once had that towering monster ever lost a drop of blood. Up until this point, the android had assumed they had no internal systems. Of course, this revelation changed that standpoint drastically, and it strengthened one thought that had been dwelling in the back of the android?s mind for the last few hours: Everything truly was possible in Dante?s Abyss.
