There was little to be said as the combined forces of Ragnarok and Pitch Black suryeved their surroundings. In several places grass and dirt had been torn (very violently, no doubt) from its resting place, scorch marks dotted the battlefield and several pieces of flesh littered the ground. While on one hand it was kind of disturbing and gross, it also gave the warriors a sense of satisfying closure. Admittedly, some were less satisified than others, but loses and injuries were to be expected. Rad found his breath coming in heavy dosages as he sized everyone up. Aside from Hasky and Gohan, everyone seemed to be fine, much to the saiyans surprise. Yamu, not so nearly resembling an elephant anymore, had taken it upon himself to carry the severaly wounded Hasky. Rad didn't complain, he wasn't keen on soaking himself in blood. His eyes came to rest on two pieces of equipment that had been left behind. One was a fairly large gun, almost identicle to the one 18 had used, and the other was, to Rad's supreme satifaction, a chainsaw.
"Hey babe, check this out," Rad hoisted the chainsaw into the air with a grin. 18 siply rolled her eyes. "Here, hold onto this one for now." Scooping up the second Ki Shotgun, Raditzu tossed it to his significant other.
"How come you two get the new toys?" Bra asked with a smirk.
"We'll worry about who gets them later," Rad said as he slipped the chainsaw into his bag. "Right now we need to get moving."
"Oh? You're in charge now?" Bardock was already looking over his own map, his little quip having escaped from the side of his mouth.
"Tch, I don't care where we go so long as we go."
"What's the rush?" Selipa asked, nonchalantly.
"Fights draw attention," Bardock answered first. "And the last thing we want is to be caught standing around a field."
"Yeah, look where it got them," 18 added.
"That way," Bardock informed everyone with his finger.
Once again, there wasn't too much to be said. The periodic moaning from Hasky was a rather morbid way for the silence to be broken, but it was the most present one. As they continued on through the annoyingly rought terrain, Bardock did a noteworthy job of keeping them on course. Unlike when they had encountered their recent opponents, Rad had fallen back to the middle of the group with 18. Though there was a general amount of silence, the two lovers kept up a fairly steady stream of small talk. To them it was a rather refreshing change of pace, while to those around them it probably seemed oddly out of place.
"So then, I was... uh... going..." Rad waved his hand, a gesture to emphasize words that never came. Instead, he fell flat on his face.
Or would have, had 18 not been standing next to him at the time. The androidess scooped up her saiyan companion with reflexes that, had he been consciously aware of them, Rad would have applauded. About that same time, towards the rear of the group, Yamu found himself forced to take a knee, which was a bit awkward since he was still holding Hasky. Several moments passed before the bald human was able to confidently regain his footing, and several more until Raditzu managed to climb back onto shaky legs.
"Old age catching up to ya?" Bra jibed with a smirk.
Rad's reply was somewhere between a 'tch', a grunt, and a hiss. He didn't even smirk or grin, a most disturbing sign. He did, however, managed to throw an are around 18, who readily supported his weight. With both Rad and Yamu in walking condition, more or less, the group continued along at a somewhat slower pace. Rad and 18 had fallen to the back of the group, behind Yamu and Hasky, but weren't losing anymore ground. After what seemed like far too long a time, the group came to a small clearing in the woods. It would be perfect for setting up a camp as the sun began setting. Several of the fighters looked like they could use some rest.
"You ok?" Bardock had approached Raditzu after making a quick check of the clearing with Bra and Selipa.
"Ugh... yeah." Rad reached absent-mindedly into his bag and pulled out a bottle of water. Flipping the lid off, the saiyan downed half the bottle in a single gulp, unconcerned with its lukewarm temperature. "These... collars make it hard to transform." Rad nodded over to Yamu, who had also taken a seat. "He's probably feeling it too, though hopefully not as bad." Rad managed a grin at this, but weight shifted and he fell against Android 18, who had taken a seat beside. "I'm... just tired. Some bread and sleep and I'll be good as new."
"You better be." Bardock gave Rad a once-over before turning his attention to tending their makeshift campsite.
As he looked around the various fighters, Raditzu cursed himself for being in such a weakened state. If he didn't some sleep, or eat soon he wouldn't be able to throw a punch, let alone help out in a fight. What was the point of weilding such extreme power if he left those around him helpless after using it only briefly? The fact that those around him were anything but helpless didn't even enter into Rad's mind. A frown creased his features as he wrapped an arm around 18. She, of everyone else here, was probably the most able, but that didn't stop the long-haired warrior from worrying about her the most.
