Day One: Evening

[Minoshia]

The sun had almost completely died away over the horizon, and the Konat brother sat idly on either side of the fire, munching away slowly on large pieces of bread and fish. Though the Konat's made a point of keeping as much bread as possible, and they slipped left over portions of fish into their satchel, keeping it for later. They preserved it by wrapping it up in large green leaves that hung from the lower trees. It was Tapion's idea, the older and more cunning of the two warriors.

The two each took a last sip of water, and proceeded to put everything they had used back into the respective satchels, dividing up the leftover food equally. It didn't matter that the larger of the two had eaten more, they divided it up in even amounts, so they both would survive longer. As the fire dwindled down, and the glow of the charcoals became less impressive as the moments went on, the night died out like the end of a cigarette, with only a few drags left. The two konats lived those few last drags better then most in this tournament, Minoshia knew, from his war experience, that there were many who were simply nursing wounds, instead of enjoying this experience. Although the competitive killer in Minoshia was silently urging to draw blood, he kept suppressing it.

The younger prince leaned back onto the sand, closing his eyes quietly, as did his brother. They continued to talk, as their voices grew more mundane and low in tone. Their minds closing to the world as they would take a quick nap after the luscious feast. Though Konat's didn't sleep long, and they would be awake again before midnight, Minoshia loved the few hours of sleep that he needed. Though this time it was less enjoyable. As he slept, Karl announced the names of the dead, and the information slipped into the silent mind of the Konat, who began to dream terrible nightmares about the slaughter that his alliance friends had endured during the late hours of the afternoon.
