Day One: Evening

Darkness had settled. The warrior stopped at he listened, to the fruit cake speak in his, ever-eerie, cheery voice. The android noticed this and turned to look at him with a pondering gaze.

"Bulma...", the murmur could barely be heard, "figured she wouldn't last. But Yajirobe? To scared to kill no doubt."

Retane's pupils met Twenty's dead on when Toma's name was anounced. The namek winced when he saw a fiery compassion explode in his eyes. The mercenary lowereed his gaze away from the mecahnical human. He could offer no remorse for those eliminated. He was sure his life mattered to no one.

Retane dropped his bag and produeced water. Using his peripheral vision he could see his ally doing the same thing. The namek flinched as he grabbed the water with his injured left arm. He would need to patch this up and change the dressings to his burns before the night was over. He drank the cool refreshing water until only a fourth of it was left in the canteen. As he returned it to his pack he paused for a moment thinking.

"The cowards have grown some guts it seems. Maybe they have realized...", the namek looked up to his companion who met his gaze. "If we die, we don't go to the afterlife. We are just removed from the tournament. You may understand this or not."

The near-human didn't respond, due to the fact he was enjoying his bread.

"My condoences on the loss of oyour friend, but I might as well ask. Are their anymore still alive that I should know about? That we should be looking for?"

The semi-human choked down his bread.
