The synthetic humanoid could not help but feel a mixture of desperation, despair and disappointment in his last fleeting moments of life, cruelly having his life brought to an end at the hands of a blonde woman toting a flamethrower. As the flames issued from the barrel, the cocktail of emotions tortured him no more, a brilliant white flash leading to his demise.
Silence. Sixteen was not surprised to find his ears not functional after the blow, though he was surprised to still be conscious. Perhaps there really was an afterlife? If so, where had he found himself now? Opening his eyes, he found his answer.
The mohawked android lay sprawled on the tiled floor of the main lobby of the Dante?s Abyss sign-ups. Surely this must have been some cruel joke by the fates. In no way would Sixteen consider this Heaven. Far from it to be precise. Then perhaps he deserved to burn forever in the flames of Hell? If this was Hell, Michael felt he would have no problem putting up with it. Hell, it was almost empty anyway. A couple janitors and maintenance workers wandered about, busying themselves with various un-important tasks. Sixteen watched a custodian eye him oddly while passing by pushing a barrel before realizing how odd he looked. He quickly got to his feet, brushing the dust from his jacket. He brought a hand up to rub his sore neck, fingers touching the familiar metal brace. He sighed, apparently this was part of his Hell. Perhaps now loud Disco music would play over the intercom?
The brace fell to the tiled floor when he removed his hand, apparently having been loosened by the burst of flames. Out of curiosity, he reached under his jacket, prodding his wound from before with a finger. To his surprise, it was nowhere to be found. Grinning, he looked around. Maybe Hell wouldn?t be that bad. As he looked around the nigh-empty room, he spotted what looked like a pile of blue cloth about four meters away. Ki Senses now unhindered by the brace, Sixteen was able to sense a large amount of energy radiating from the cloth, that almost equal to his own. What kind of a place is this where laundry has enough power to level buildings? Suddenly, the pile twitched. Mike hopped back in shock, wondering if the fabric would attack him. Taking a step closer, he noticed that is was not in fact a bundle of cloth, but a cat.
?...Puar?? The android asked quietly. What could a cat have done to wind up in Hell?
The creature did not move, it?s tiny eyes closed tightly. Sixteen stepped up to the feline, prodding it with the tip of his boot. The animal moved slightly, turning it?s head toward the source. It?s eyes flicked open, blinking and looking around. ?Red?? The animal inquired, getting up and taking a seat.
?So you?ve been sentenced here too?? The android sighed. ?Well, eternal damnation here we come.?
The feline gave him a strange look. ?Red, when we get killed in the competition, we warp back to the main lobby of Dante?s Abyss. Didn?t you read the rules??
Sixteen?s face flushed, a weak chuckle escaping his lips. ?I...yeah. Of course I did! That was sarcasm....?
The animal gave a high-pitched laugh, shaking his head. ?Sure you did.?
?So, I suppose we warp back to where we came from then?? Sixteen asked, walking a few steps.
?Actually, wherever we like.? The cat trotted behind him on all fours.
Red shrugged, having no idea where he would go. Earth perhaps? Maybe back to the headquarters on Vegeta? Then, a thought struck him. Quickly bringing his fingers to his temple, he opened his scouter. The device beeped to notify him of it?s power being on. Bringing up the Civil Unrest Q-Wave signature, he started his message.
?Computer, I?ll be arriving home soon. No need to make any preparations.? He said sarcastically. ?Sixteen out.?
The cat at his feet gave him another odd look. Puzzled and shocked at the same time. ?What is it that just popped out of your head?!?
It took a moment before Sixteen understood the statement. ?Oh, that?s my scouter. I had it built in so I didn?t have to carry the capsule around with me all the time. My pockets have holes.?
?And it?s in...your...head...?? The cat inquired blankly. ?Wait, ?built??
?Yeah. I?m an android. You didn?t know?? Michael asked.
The cat shook his head. ?Like Seventeen??
?Yes, but he?s different than me biologically.? He answered. ?Don?t ask.? He added.
?So, your ?Android Name? is Sixteen, right?? The cyan feline asked.
Red flinched. ?Sure. But I don?t like being called an android that much, bad past. Just call me Red or Mike or something.? The cat looked confused again. ?Michael was my name before I was an android.? He tried to clear the confusion.
The sky-blue cat nodded. ?Ok, I got it all straight.?
?Alright, let?s head for the teletubes then. Someone?s waiting for me back at the HQ.? Sixteen headed toward the back of the room, where several phone-booth looking objects stood parallel to one another.
?Where is it you two are headed?? The teletube attendant inquired, glancing up from his clipboard.
?Planet Vegeta.? The ginger-haired android stated simply.
?And you?? The attendant turned to Puar.
?Oh, I?m with him.? The feline smiled up at the woman.
?Alrighty then. Step on in and have a safe journey.? She punched a code in on the terminal as the door shut behind the duo.
