It wasn't long after that Vejita was approached by Kami. The Saiyan was sitting back, relaxing on their break while Reijin had gone out to scout the woods around them for food. His stomach was grumbling, and he was growing irritable.
"Not training Trunks?" the Namekian questioned as he walked up.
Vejita shook his head. "No, he hasn't been around. Where the hell is Reijin at? I should have had my breakfast by now!" He angrily clenched his fists repeatedly. "Failure is unnacceptable in this situation."
The elder chuckled. "That, my friend, is why our race exists solely on water. Something easily replenished." To make a point, he held up his water bottle and sprayed a bit into his mouth. "Ahh..." he sighed. "I saw Trunks earlier wandering off. He seemed to be bored and was looking for something to do. I don't see why he can't just enjoy what's around us."
"He always needs something to entertain him! I'm trying to train my son to be a warrior, and he's always fallen for simple distractions. He'll never be a true warrior at this rate!" the Saiyan cursed.
Shrugging shoulders, Kami continued. "Well, as long as he doesn't get distracted by some other goal while he is watching your back today, you'll be fine. I mean, he is your son."
"Of course he's my son, Namek!" the Saiyan snapped. "That's why I need him to train hard. My son will not fail me tomorrow. I will defend him till my death," he spoke, sounding a bit doubtful by now.
Kami nodded. "Hopefully he'll do the same, and we'll all be alright. Bra's death should not have shaken him too much to fight-"
"My daughter's death is not to be spoken of again, Namek!" the King growled, death punctuating ever word. "My children are royal Saiyan blood, and failure is not an option. Someone killed my daughter by drawing her trust. Its the only way that she could have lost."
Nodding once more, Kami spoke the Saiyan's concern. "Someone like Raditzu."
That seemed to have nailed his coffin shut. The Saiyan's eyes suddenly glossed over, and Kami knew that he had blood on his mind. "Raditzu..." he growled, having tasted the blood on his tongue as testament to the conflict they had shared over the years.
Kami turned, walking off, and Vejita simply ignored him. He reached the woods, and returned to where he had left the quickly gutted pig. Saiba guarded the pig from any hopeful animals, and Kami smiled at him on his arrival. "Good job," he spoke. His body dissappeared into a POOF of smoke, and Reijin stepped forth from he cloud...
Saiba walked before him as he threw the pig over his shoulders, emerging from the trees before calling out to everyone. "Breakfast is here! I will not wait for you fools any longer! Anyone that doesn't eat will not be ready for battle today." He hoped that would quickly rush to their dining.
The stage had been set.
The doubt had been sown.
The dissent had emerged.
Reijin wanted to win this tournament, and he knew that to do so, he could not have everyone united against him. He smiled, knowing that this tournament was going to be his for the taking. He fingered the ring in his pocket and chuckled as the rain fell over his adolescent body, giving him a very shadowy appearance.
