Pre-Liminary Round 2: Lucifer's Group

Stilton On Rye

The taste of a new world.

Main Page

Welcome to Stilton on Rye. This RPG is based on a simple idea. You are the owner of a retro restaurant in a distant future. The only things you serve here are natural things, bread, made of rye, cheese, stilton, or other types, and other foods. In this high-tech world, everyone eats very little as a result of genetic experiments, so you only sell sandwiches made from stilton cheese spread on rye bread. In the next pages you will learn how to manage your restaurant using a play-by-post mode to do it.

The point of the game is to gain as much money as possible, spending it as efficiently as possible.

Rules/Help

OOC Rules

1. What staff says, goes. Should you think a mod or admin is being unfair, post in the OOC Area, saying your complaint. They will try to be as fair about it as possible.
2. No complete OOC Posts in the IC Area. If you wish to make a comment, add a line or two at the end of your post with an OOC: tag at the start. Complete OOC Posts are warned.
3. No flaming is allowed. If any thread goes from jokes to flaming, it is closed and the flame-baiter, or flamer is warned.
4. No Porn?whatsoever. If you don?t know if your image is classified as porn, talk to an admin in a PM and ask him if it is okay.
5. Quite the clich?, but ?Have Fun RPing here!?

Starting Out

You start out with one restaurant, with one table, one cow, one cheese-making machine, one patch of rye, and one robot chef that will make the bread and the sandwiches. You will also start with 10 000 dollars which you can spend to increase the efficiency of your restaurant.

As often as possible, you will RP having a customer. There is a limit to how many customers you can RP a week. This makes the furniture upgrades valuable, more furniture, more customers. However, if you do not RP all of them in one week, you will lose money proportional to the amount staff thinks he would have given you. (Staff posts about this.)

You will show him to a table, and you must have a discussion. In these high-tech times, almost surely, the customer you will be interested in ?the old times?, or else he would have picked a normal restaurant. The RP itself won?t be so long, because there isn?t much to say. Then, staff will come in as the customer, and ask questions about how the food is made, the old times, or something not really related. It will be either about our current time or about even before, in the Middle Ages.

Depending on your answers, staff will give the money you deserve. If you give extremely detailed responses, you might get bigger rewards. Do not look on other sites, if you don?t know what it is, just say it. We can?t stop our members from doing that, but it is your problem. If you cheat, it won?t be as satisfactory to gain money. Also no links and no copy/paste?s from other sites. It must be a completely original answer, preferably long as well, one or more paragraphs.

Every member gets his own forum; at least until the member count is too much.

Competition

Of course, what joy is there in a multi-player online RPG without contact? You are able to go into one of your competitor?s restaurant, and try to do what you want. You can sabotage, look at their techniques to answer customers, steal furniture, plant evidence for the Sanitation Department, etc.

All of the above and more can be done via an RP in a competitor?s forum. You post trying to do what you came for. Ending the post for example with a: ?He tried to place the smoke bombs on the ground slowly, looking in every direction?Would he make it without being caught?? type of sentence.

At that moment, staff will come in and post whether it succeeded. If it succeeded, staff posts how much money it costs him to repair/pay a debt/pay a fine. The longer, and better quality the post, the bigger the costs. However, should your actions failed, you might end up paying a fine. Staff will tell your competitor that you either have to let him go, or to RP the punishment. If you go for a fine, it can be how much you like, up to five thousand dollars ( 5000 ). This is without contradicting items, bribes and such, which will reduce the fine.

Special Upgrades

These are upgrades given for extraordinary RPing. If at any time, staff decides you don?t live up to this ranking any more, it is immediately retracted.

High-Put Friends - You have gained advantages by gaining friends in high places. This saves you the trouble of being caught by a competitor, or being the target of a hoax. Any fines you have to pay will be split in half and you pay only 50%.

?Special? Uncle - Seems your uncle has been hired as a DA. He can get you off the hook, should you find yourself face-to-face to a fine. This time, you don?t have to pay the fine at all, but this has a limited number of uses a month, staff will specify how many you have left in your roster.

Special Recommendations - So, your high-society friends have decided to help you out. At any party they go, every new person they meet, they recommend your restaurant. This causes your customers to be generous, most likely rich. 50% more at every money gained.
