Frequently Asked Questions

What is this site?

This is an RPG, based around a fictional galaxy and a fictional plant: Jamba, a planet populated by ham.

What is an RPG?

An RPG is a roleplaying game. A roleplaying game is a game in which you take on the role of a character and play through their lives. In a roleplaying game, you can also interact with other players.

How do I sign up?

To sign up, all you have to do is follow the simple instructions on the joining page.

Do I have to download anything?

No, you don?t. Unlike the RPGs you see out their today on the video game market, we go by roleplaying format. This isn?t like a video game. All you have is forums to play with.

If it doesn?t work like a video game, then how do I play?

You play by using roleplays to carry out your character?s life. From there, you can write to earn things throughout your travels, and experience things all around the world, and much more.

How do I roleplay?

You write posts in novel form and post them in the roleplaying section. Please use third person and past tense only. NOTE: You cannot do this until you are accepted.

I can?t write. Is there any other way I can play?

No.

Will there be more content added?

Yes. In the future.

Can you die in this RPG?

Ham is meat from a dead creature (the thigh/buttocks of a dead creature, to be exact. Commonly pork). You can?t die when you are already dead. So, no.

No one has replied in my join post!

Be patient. We all have lives.

Joining

To join Jamba is a very simple process. All you have to do it go to our forums, go to the joining section, and proceed to make a thread containing the following information. After that, all you have to do is wait for staff confirmation, and when they tell you to register, you are finally accepted.

This is what your join form should look like:

Name:
Preparation:
Style:
Shape :
Roleplay Example:

Name is, of course, your character?s name. You may use whatever you like here, as long as it is appropriate for people under the age of 18. Remember: this is your only chance to pick a name. You can, however, have nicknames and such later on. This is your only chance to pick a main name, though, so think it over.

Preparation is the amount of time you?ve been ?cooked.? This goes by common terms like ?raw.? For more information on what this actually does, see ?Preparations/Cooking Styles.?

Style is the type of ham you actually are. Similar to race, in a way. This includes smoked, honey-glazed, and etc. For more information on what this actually does, see ?Preparations/Cooking Styles.?

Shape is your general shape/form.

Roleplaying Example is exactly what it says. It is your roleplaying example. This is just to prove you can roleplay well enough to join. We aren?t very restricting here, as you only have to do 150 words in third-person and past tense form. It?s pretty easy to do. If you can?t do that, we?d be happy to help you out.

Our World

Jamba is a strange planet located in the far away galaxy of Hambo. It is an extremely small planet compared to all others in the area. Some have even compared it to the smallest planets in the universe. There is some thing else that makes Jamba well known, however. That is that is the only world made out of meat.

The planet is made of ham, to be specific, and is shaped into a small square shape. Similar to the pieces of meat you see in typical dog and/or cat food. This world is covered with forests made of mould, lakes of pure meat juice, deserts of endless spice, and everything you would ever see on a piece of ham. Just in ?worldly? form. Basically, it?s like a living meal, always changing.

Jamba is inhabited by, of course, ham people. They come in all shapes and sizes, such as legs of ham, slices, and so on. Whatever you wish. That depends on you, as you are a part of that group. There all sorts of types of ham to choose from, ways to be cooked, and other things, as you will learn elsewhere.

There are ?lesser races,? of course. And they will be out there. Look out for them, as they will be throughout your quests and sagas.

Stats

This is the stat sheet that will appear on the forum roster when you first join this RPG. It includes all stats. You will be able to increase all of these stats later on. The time for this is every two weeks on Saturday, in which you will be given twenty points to increase your stats with.

General Stat Sheet/Roster:

Name: Generic
Preparation: Random
Style: Random

Pineapple Pieces: 500

Star Rating: 300,000

Juiciness: 50
Toughness: 50
Sweetness: 50
Spiciness: 50
Flavour: 50
Size: 50

NOTE : There are no mental stats. You get 50 pineapple every training. You get the same amount of points. See techniques for moves.

Preparations/Cooking Styles

Preparations

Preparations are the amount of time you?ve been ?cooked.? This goes by common terms which include raw, rare, medium-rare, medium, well-done, and overdone. The way preparations work is that it increases or decreases two stats. These stats are ?toughness? and ?juiciness.? It, in no way, gives you any advantage other than the fact that juiciness is an offensive stat and toughness is a defensive stat. They do not add to your ?star rating? at all.

Preparations, however, are a neat way to add uniqueness to your character. The following are the bonuses/penalties for each preparation.

Raw:

Juiciness = +7
Toughness = -7

Rare:

Juiciness = +5
Toughness = -5

Medium-Rare:

Juiciness = +3
Toughness = -3

Medium:

Juiciness = -3
Toughness = +3

Well-Done

Juiciness = -5
Toughness = +5

Overdone

Juiciness = -7
Toughness = +7

Cooking Styles

Cooking Styles are basically different types of recipes when it comes to ham. There are four in total, and each, just like the preparations, have their own bonuses. These bonuses, again like the preparations, don?t give an advantage.

Cooking styles include honey-glazed, salted, dried, and smoked ham. The bonuses for each are listed:

Honey-Glazed:

Sweetness = +5
Spiciness = -5

Salted:

Spiciness = +5
Size = -5

Dried:

Flavour = +5
Toughness = -5

Smoked:

Flavour = +5
Juiciness = -5

Items

Hams are surprisingly advanced for pieces of meat. The following items are available at any store.

Meat Cannon: A cannon used to fire lesser meats. Plus 5 to Juiciness.
Pineapple Pieces: 1000

Deluxe Meat Cannon: A deluxe cannon used to fire lesser meats. That obviously makes it better. Plus 10 to Juiciness.
Pineapple Pieces: 2500

Food Hose: It is said this was used by the elderly on other words to live. On Jamba however, whoever carries this is a formidable enemy. Plus 15 to all stats.
Pineapple Pieces: 5000

Cheese Armour: A weak armour made of cheese. Plus 3 to Toughness.
Pineapple Pieces: 800

Spicy Armour: A vast upgrade to cheese armour, this one is made of hard spice. Also quite tasty. Plus 10 to Toughness.
Pineapple Pieces: 2300

Armour of Jamba: An armour made out of Jamba, the very planet on which you stand. Plus 12 to all stats.
Pineapple Pieces: 4000

Leg of Ham: The corpse of one of your fallen brothers. Plus 2 to all stats.
Pineapple Pieces: 1500

Power-ups/Techniques

Power-ups

Power-ups are things you can earn in sagas that can increase your stats by a certain multiplier (for example, times five). Please note that these can only be earned in sagas through top-notch roleplaying. The definition of ?top-notch? is to be decided by the staff member who is running that saga. Do not complain if you didn?t get any power-ups in a saga. Just try harder next time.

All power-ups are permament. If/when you get another power-up, you will be divided by the previous power-up and then multiplied by your new power-up. In the event that the stats end up in halves, it will round up.

Each race goes by the same power-up system. However, you are not limited to a description. You can get sprinkled with some spice, or become the Haminator. It doesn?t really matter. Be creative.

Also note that power-ups will be harder to achieve each time, even if they may seem to have equal requirements here.

The following are the levels of power-ups:

Power-up Level 1
Multiplier: x5
Requirements: Exceptional Roleplaying (through the eyes of the judge)

Power-up Level 2
Multiplier: x15
Requirements: Exceptional Roleplaying (through the eyes of the judge), a trigger

Power-up Level 3
Multiplier: x30
Requirements: Exceptional Roleplaying (through the eyes of the judge), a trigger

Techniques

There are no definite techniques on this site. They are created for you, and only given out for exceptional roleplaying (saga or otherwise). If you are given a ?technique,? you will create one and submit it for judgment by staff. If accepted, you will receive the technique.
