We've already discussed this. Topher Grace has said himself along with the director that he will be Eddie Brock throughout most of the film, and not become Venom until about the last ten minutes. This movie isn't about Venom, its about the black suit Spidey. It just leads into Venom. I mean, Pheonix wasn't "the badguy" in X2 just b/c she showed up at the very very very end, was she? Nope, just a lead in.

Exactly! Spiderman 3 probably ends with a cliffhanger for Venom leading into Spiderman 4.

8oWe said the same thing pretty much.
