"So...how long are we having to wait, exactly?" Bujin sighed.
"I don't know," replied Celipa, passing an antsy glance towards the front of the line. It didn't appear to be moving anywhere. "Awhile, by the looks of it.
The sign-up station was swamped - who the Hell knew so many people on Earth were able warriors? Well, apparently even those that weren't considered themselves to be, because there were lines branching off in every direction; and the crowds at this particular sign-up station resembled a mob.
Cel and Bujin had been standing here forever.
"Well," began Bujin, stroking his chin for a second. "Let's get to the front then!"
He shoved a man in front of him to the side, ignoring an exclamation of 'Hey!'. Celipa shrugged, and followed behind her small and impatient companion shoving through wads of wanna-be stars.
At last, they reached a desk. The blonde woman behind it wore glasses, and had her hair tied up in a tight bun. She looked like a librarian.
"I'll go first," whispered Cel, stepping in front of Bujin. She stepped up to the desk and cleared her throat loudly, causing the sign-up lady to look up from a paper she was scribbling something out on. "My name's Celipa. I'm here for the sign-ups."
The lady looked annoyed for a second, and then pulled out another piece of paper from under the first. She jotted down the word 'Celipa' in a box labeled simply: Name.
She asked for some personal information, which she then filled out, and then they moved onto the next phase of the operation.
"Show me some moves."
The lady had about as much personality as the wall behind her. Her hand snaked into the desk she sat at, in a drawer, and she pulled out a video camera. With the flip of a button, she brought it up to her eye.
"Now? Right here?" asked Celipa, confused. The lady nodded in annoyance and ushered for her to start.
"Ok, right."
Her face shifted to a more serious expression, and a red aura erupted around her. The papers on the sign-up lady's desk began to blow around softly from the sheer energy expelled by the saiyan warrioress.
"I call that Kaioken."
She beamed at the lady, and then conjured up a blue orb of ki into her palm.
"And I can do that too."
The lady flipped off her video camera, and put it down on the desk. Cel was dissappointed...her face showed no sign of surprise - she expected Kaioken to blow the spectators away! But no one besides Bujin and the signer-upper were even paying attention.
"Take this folder, and step into the tube to the left of me," stated the woman blandly. She handed Celipa a large folder filled with papers - Cel was looking rather hastled and rushed.
"Is that it?" asked Celipa, scratching her head. "What is all this?"
"Rules."
And she was ushered away...the saiyan woman stepped past the 'librarian', and stuck out her tongue while the lady had her back turned, then stepped into the teletube; folder in hand. She cast the folder a furtive glance, and then the teletube closed on her.
"Later Bujin!"
The teal man who had stepped up to the desk waved briefly, adjusting his turban with his other hand. Celipa raised up her hand to wave, and vanished.

Standing on a hill in my mountain of dreams
Telling myself its not as hard, hard, hard as it seems
